  • Patent number: 9960518
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide high performance and reliable electrical cable connectors and connector assembly. An electrical cable connector according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a housing (110) and terminals (140) disposed in compartments (111) of the housing (110). The housing (110) has a mating face (101) for connecting to a counterpart connector, and each compartment (111) has a mating end (111a) adjacent to the mating face (101) and an entrance (111b) opposite to the mating end (111a). Each terminal (140) is disposed in one of the compartments (111) by being inserted into the compartment (111) from the entrance (111b). A cover (120) is assembled to the housing (110) to block the entrance (111b) of each compartment (111), such that removal of the terminals (140) from the housing (110) through the entrance (111b) is prevented. The cover (120) has openings (126, 128) formed thereon to allow electrical cables (130) to pass through to connect to the terminals (140).

  • Patent number: 8056811
Abstract: An anti-misinsertion mechanism for a card connector defining a correct card connector thickness, the mechanism including: a body; a first link generally extending along the body, the first link including an actuator for actuating the first link to be rotated from a normal position toward an operating position upon detecting existence of the correct thickness of a partially-inserted card; and a second link provided with a stopper for selectively preventing full insertion of the card, the second link being pivoted to the body and operatively connected to the first link, thereby being rotatable between a normal position and an operating position relative to the normal and operating positions of the first link.

  • Patent number: 7909648
Abstract: An electric connector has a housing, signal and ground contacts disposed in the housing and a metal shell surrounding the housing. The metal shell has a support segment covering a top surface of the housing and with a first edge positioned adjacent to a back surface of the housing, and a second edge positioned adjacent to a front surface of the housing. The ground contacts are formed integral with and extend forwardly from the second edge of the support segment by a one-step stamping process.
