  • Patent number: 6207746
Abstract: A process for producing a thermoplastic polymer composition comprising: (1) 100 parts by weight of an olefin polymer which comprises ethylene and at least one &agr;-olefin having 3 to 10 carbon atoms and in which the density is in the range of 0.85 to 0.91 g/cm3 and the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) which is the ratio of weight average molecular weight (Mw) and number average molecular weight (Mn) as calculated by a gel permeation chromatography (GPC) is less than 3.5, (2) 5 to 300 parts by weight of a propylene polymer, (3) 5 to 250 parts by weight of an oil, and (4) 0.02 to 3 parts by weight of a radical initiator, which process comprises steps of previously mixing and heat-kneading the olefin polymer, the propylene polymer and the radical initiator; adding the oil in the stage in which cross-linking is at a proportion of 30 to 95% based on the cross-linking degree of the composition to be finally obtained; and further melt-kneading them to cross-link the same.

  • Patent number: 6087431
Abstract: An olefinic thermoplastic elastomer composition, which comprises a mixture comprising:(1) 100 parts by weight of an olefinic elastomer comprising ethylene and at least one .alpha.-olefin having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, and having an .alpha.-olefin copolymerization ratio of 20 to 30% by weight, a density of 0.8 to 0.9 g/cm.sup.3 and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of less than 3.0 in terms of a ratio of weight-average molecular weight (Mw) to number-average molecular weight (Mn) calculated by gel permeation chromatography (GPC),(2) 5 to 90 parts by weight of a propylenic polymer, and(3) 5 to 250 parts by weight of an oil for rubber, the mixture being crosslinked by a radical initiator or both of a radical initiator and a crosslinking promoter.

  • Patent number: 5446999
Abstract: A vehicle door assembly with a removable outside panel, including a flange on the outside panel bottom edge. The flange is folded towards the inside panel, and forms a V-shaped groove opening which opens in an upward direction. The inside panel bottom edge engages within this groove in a releasable manner, distributing the weight of the outside panel across the length of the bottom edge, eliminating the need for a cover member to attach the outside panel to.

  • Patent number: 5355629
Abstract: A door for a vehicle is assembled by joining three modules together to facilitate the assembly process. The three modules are an outer module including an outer panel, a window regulator module including a window pane and a window regulator, and an inner module including an interior member. The window regulator module is preliminarily assembled as an independent unit, so that it is easy to adjust the open and closed positions and the movement of the window pane. These modules are joined by fastening means extending along the direction of the thickness of the door, so that the assembly operation is made easier.

  • Patent number: 4957326
Abstract: A roof panel mounting structure through which a roof panel is fixedly mounted on a vehicle body. The roof panel mounting structure is comprised of a roof rail forming part of the vehicle body. The roof rail is constructed of inner and outer panels which are joined with each other to form a hollow therebetween. A reinforcement member is fixedly disposed in a manner to traverse the hollow of the roof rail. The roof panel is made of plastic and integrally formed with a boss section projecting downwardly. A mounting bolt is inserted in the boss section and projects downwardly from the boss section. The boss section passes through the outer panel and projects downwardly near the reinforcement member, so that the mounting bolt is fixedly secured to the reinforcement member thereby to securely mount the roof panel on the vehicle body.
