  • Publication number: 20090023396
Abstract: It is to provide a mobile telephone device with the broadcasting receiver having high sensitivity over a broad band. A meander element 14 is disposed in parallel to an opening surface 5a of a loop element 5, and the two elements 5 and 14 are connected directly in a feeding point 9 so as to be supplied with power in parallel. Thus, the two elements 5 and 14 operate as antennas taking charge of upper and lower divided bands of a frequency band respectively.

  • Publication number: 20080167093
Abstract: It is an object of the invention to provide a portable wireless apparatus capable of maintaining high quality of a communication in various using configurations obtained by a two-axis hinge mechanism. A portable wireless apparatus (100) having a two-axis hinge portion includes a first antenna (102) which is suitable for a talking state and a second antenna (104) which is suitable for a waiting state. The first antenna (102) or the second antenna (104) is selected based on a result of opening/closing detection decided from an angle ? of a first axis (106) and the result of opening/closing detection decided from an angle ? of a second axis (107). Consequently, it is possible to select either of the antennas which is not influenced by hands or fingers of a user.

  • Publication number: 20070194997
Abstract: A conductive metal frame attached to an upper case is electrically connected to hinge metal member. The hinge metal member is connected to a hinge metal member by a rotary shaft in a rotatable manner. The hinge metal member, a further hinge metal member, and the rotary shaft are made of conductive metal so that electric continuity is obtained at contact points thereamong. The further hinge metal member is connected to a matching circuit on a circuit board via a feedpoint terminal. A conductor element is connected to a ground pattern of the circuit board at a position close to a point at which the matching circuit is grounded. The structure as described above provides a folding portable wireless unit that can secure a high antenna performance in a calling state and a waiting state.

  • Patent number: 7126545
Abstract: A subject of the present invention is to provide an antenna unit and a portable radio device capable of attaining a wider bandwidth and a lower SAR. In the present invention, an antenna element (12) that has an effective length corresponding to a half wavelength of a transmitting frequency and a parasitic element (13) that has an effective length corresponding to a half wavelength of a receiving frequency are provided, an antenna current is induced in the antenna element (12) at the transmitting frequency upon transmitting a radio wave in a predetermined transmitting frequency band, and another antenna current is induced in the parasitic element (13) by a spatial coupling between the antenna element (12) and the parasitic element (13) at the receiving frequency upon receiving the radio wave in a predetermined receiving frequency band, whereby peak points in an antenna current distribution are scattered into two points.
