Patent number: 4958747Abstract: A dispenser for housing large (for example, 5-gallon) bottled drinking water containers having a generally narrow mouth (for example, 1-2 inches in diameter) provides a cabinet having a lower end portion adapted to receive the bottle in an upright fashion so that the flat base of the bottle sits upon the lower floor portion of the cabinet and the upper open-mouth portion extends upwardly. A pump suctions water from the bottle and transmits it to a first reservoir positioned at the uppermost portion of the cabinet. The first reservoir is an ambient temperature reservoir for containing ambient temperature water such as is typically used in cooking or the like. A second cold water reservoir is contained generally below the first reservoir and receives flow therefrom via a duct which extends through the central portion of the second reservoir. The duct transmits ambient water to the second reservoir and beyond to a spigot which is affixed to the external cabinet portion of the apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 1988Date of Patent: September 25, 1990Inventor: Kerney T. Patent number: 4615483Abstract: A warm air deflector which is connectable to the outside of the radiator housing of a vehicle in which air is blown in a forward direction over the radiator and out the front of radiator. It includes a curved front plate generally located on the upper half of the radiator and extending above the top of the radiator. The curved plate is generally concave with the concave portion facing toward the driver. Connected to each side of the curved plate are two parallel side walls having their inner edges generally parallel to the radiator of the vehicle and their outer edges terminating along the edge of the curved plate, the curved plate having a series of holes on the lower portion thereof and a slidable baffle for selectively covering the holes. The slidable baffle may be lowered to divert air into the diverter and back onto the operator or raised to allow air to flow through the radiator and through the holes in the curved plate without being diverted backward onto the driver.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 1985Date of Patent: October 7, 1986Inventor: Kerney T. Patent number: 4429832Abstract: A projectable guard for a projectable lawn sprinkler for preventing foreign matter from entering the sprinker. The sprinklers to which the projectable guard is attached automatically rise from the ground when water pressure is applied thereto. The sprinklers have a housing, a pipe rigidly connected to the housing, a projectable conduit connected to the pipe, and a sprinkler head attached to the projectable conduit. The boot connects to the housing and the projectable pipe to prevent grass, leaves, sand, dirt, and the like from entering the housing.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1981Date of Patent: February 7, 1984Inventor: Kerney T. Sheets

Patent number: 4068535Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling the tension of flexible drive belts, or a single drive belt, connecting a drive pulley to a driven pulley. The apparatus includes a first idler assembly for engaging the slack run of the drive belts, a second idler assembly for engaging the drive run of the drive belts, and a tension member for adjusting the distance between the first idler assembly and the second idler assembly to a distance sufficient to cause the apparatus to maintain a position between the drive pulley and the driven pulley. The apparatus requires no external support or positioning member to maintain the position of the apparatus on the belts while the apparatus is controlling the tension of the moving belts. The method includes placing a first idler assembly on the slack run of the drive belts, placing a second idler assembly on the drive run of the drive belts, and forcing the assemblies together to increase the tension of the drive belts.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1975Date of Patent: January 17, 1978Assignee: David L. RayInventor: Kerney T. Sheets
