  • Publication number: 20230422361
Abstract: A household microwave appliance operates with multiple parameter configurations to treat food to be cooked in a locally differing manner. The microwave appliance determines in an initial scan with a thermal imaging sensor directed into the cooking chamber a temperature distributions on a surface of the food to be cooked. Change patterns are obtained from differences between different temperature distributions. An evaluation value is calculated for a best heating pattern that brings the current temperature distribution closest to a target temperature distribution determined based on a normalized target state and a current temperature distribution, whereafter microwave power is applied to the food to be cooked with the parameter configuration associated with the best heating pattern.

  • Publication number: 20230135333
Abstract: In a method for detecting spark-overs in a treatment compartment of a household microwave appliance during a microwave treatment process, a setting value of a microwave operating parameter can be varied during the microwave treatment process. During the microwave treatment process, measurement values of a leakage radiation are measured several times in succession under same setting values of the microwave operating parameter, and a spark-over is detected when a fluctuation range of the measurement values achieves or exceeds a predetermined fluctuation range.

  • Publication number: 20220086967
Abstract: A microwave appliance includes a microwave facility which generates microwaves and introduces the microwaves into a cooking compartment and which is operable with at least two configurations to generate different field distributions of the microwaves in the cooking compartment. A temperature acquisition facility contactlessly acquires a heat distribution in the cooking compartment, and a data processing facility identifies a non-food to be cooked region in the cooking compartment from the acquired heat distribution. A control facility sets a current configuration of the microwave facility and operates the microwave facility The control facility selects or sets at least one of the configurations of the microwave facility with regard to reducing a power of the microwaves in the identified non-food to be cooked region.

  • Publication number: 20220030677
Abstract: A domestic cooking appliance having a cooking space, a food treatment device for treating food located in the cooking space with several parameter configurations, and a sensor determining a measured value distributions of a surface property of the food. The food is cooked locally differently using at least two different parameter configurations, wherein the food treatment device is operated for a predetermined period of time with one parameter configuration, and a measured value distribution of the surface property is determined with the sensor after expiry of the period of time. A quality value is determined from the measured value distribution and, when the quality value, as determined by comparing at least two different scalar variables calculated from the same measured value distribution, does not meet a specified quality criterion, the food treatment device is operated with another parameter configuration.

  • Publication number: 20210385917
Abstract: In a method for treating food in a food handling device with a parameter configuration a measured value distribution of a surface property of the food is determined after expiration of the period of time by means of a sensor. A pattern of change is calculated from a comparison of the p-th measured value distribution with a measured value distribution determined previously. An assessment value Bq which represents a difference between a deviation of a target distribution from the measured value distribution and a deviation of the target distribution from a prediction pattern is calculated for all patterns of change stored hitherto. The prediction pattern is formed by superimposing the measured value distribution with the respective pattern of change, and the parameter configuration is set for which the assessment value Bq meets at least one predetermined criterion.
