  • Publication number: 20120236610
Abstract: A resonant converter apparatus includes a plurality of resonant converters connected in parallel, and a control module outputting a pulse width modulation (PWM) control signal to the resonant converters. The control module includes a voltage control loop and a circuit control loop. The voltage control loop compares the sensed output voltage with a predetermined reference voltage, and outputs a PWM control signal to one of the resonant converters so the output voltage of the one converter is equal to the predetermined reference voltage. The current control loop uses the sensed output current of the one converter as a reference current, compares the reference current with the sensed output current from each of the other resonant converters, generates a frequency adjusting variable, and calculates the individual PWM control signal for each of the other converters so the output currents of the plurality of converters are the same.

  • Publication number: 20120177335
Abstract: A locking device is provided that is configured to be attached to the MPO connector module and placed in a locking state that prevents the MPO connector module from being decoupled from the receptacle. The locking device may be a locking clip that is configured to be inserted into a keying slot formed in an MPO connector module. When the locking clip is inserted into the keying slot and placed in a locking state, the locking clip prevents the MPO connector module from being decoupled from the receptacle. If the locking clip is placed in an unlocking state, a tool or fingers can be used to extract the locking clip from the keying slot, thereby making it possible to decouple the MPO connector module from the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 8195771
Abstract: A method for the configuration of network elements includes initially configuring a network element via a controller. The controller characterizes (learns) the configuration steps as a series of menu driven screen commands associated with the network element and processes subsequent substantially similar configuration requests for the network element and other network elements of the network using the characterized series of menu driven screen commands to execute the subsequent configuration requests. As such, the configuration and set-up of new network element(s) or the subsequent modifications to the configuration of existing network element(s), are vastly simplified processes. The present invention advantageously reduces the number of needed manually input parameters, thus making the configuration of network elements more reliable.

  • Publication number: 20110226667
Abstract: An ebullated bed hydroprocessing system, and also a method for upgrading an existing ebullated bed hydroprocessing system, involves introducing a colloidal or molecular catalyst, or a catalyst precursor capable of forming the colloidal or molecular catalyst, into an ebullated bed reactor. The colloidal or molecular catalyst is formed by intimately mixing a catalyst precursor into a heavy oil feedstock and raising the temperature of the feedstock to above the decomposition temperature of the catalyst precursor to form the colloidal or molecular catalyst in situ. The improved ebullated bed hydroprocessing system includes at least one ebullated bed reactor that employs both a porous supported catalyst and the colloidal or molecular catalyst to catalyze hydroprocessing reactions involving the feedstock and hydrogen. The colloidal or molecular catalyst provides catalyst in what would otherwise constitute catalyst free zones within the ebullated bed hydroprocessing system.

  • Patent number: 7944843
Abstract: Network analysis in a network management system for a data network is improved by mapping the communication paths established in the network. Queries are sent by the network management system to each network element in the network. Queries are triggered by events within the network, for example, after notification by a network element that a communication path is being set up. Each query sent by the network management system requests certain connection and topology information from the network elements. Using this information, the network management system constructs the overall network topology and performs a path analysis to map completely each communication path through the network. When the communication path mapping is complete, various types of analyses are performed using the communication path information. These analyses include but are not limited to network capacity analysis, network performance analysis, and network fault analysis.

  • Publication number: 20100089554
Abstract: A vapor chamber with an insertable wick system comprises two Coverskins and a Frame, where the insertable wick system provides at least a portion of a condensate flow path from the condensing surface to an evaporation region. The Coverskins are joined to the frame to form a “drum” enclosure whereby, similar to membranes on a drum, the two Coverskins resist deformation mainly through tensile forces along the plane of the skins, and thus much thinner materials could be used. The frame operates similar to the cylindrical body of a drum in providing the necessary bending resistance so as to keep the Coverskins in a state of relative tension when it is subject to external loading. The net result of this arrangement is that each component would largely be responsible for only one type of force (i.e., tension or bending), and thus a state of maximum efficiency could be achieved.

  • Patent number: 7578928
Abstract: Methods and systems for hydroprocessing heavy oil feedstocks to form an upgraded material involve the use of a colloidal or molecular catalyst dispersed within a heavy oil feedstock, a hydrocracking reactor, and a hot separator. The colloidal or molecular catalyst promotes hydrocracking and other hydroprocessing reactions within the hydrocracking reactor. The catalyst is preferentially associated with asphaltenes within the heavy oil feedstock, which promotes upgrading reactions involving the asphaltenes rather than formation of coke precursors and sediment. The colloidal or molecular catalyst overcomes problems associated with porous supported catalysts in upgrading heavy oil feedstocks, particularly the inability of such catalysts to effectively process asphaltene molecules. The result is one or more of reduced equipment fouling, increased conversion level, and more efficient use of the supported catalyst if used in combination with the colloidal or molecular catalyst.

  • Patent number: 7517446
Abstract: A fixed bed hydroprocessing system, and also a method for upgrading a pre-existing fixed bed hydroprocessing system, involves preliminarily upgrading a heavy oil feedstock in one or more slurry phase reactors using a colloidal or molecular catalyst and then further hydroprocessing the upgraded feedstock within one or more fixed bed reactors using a porous supported catalyst. The colloidal or molecular catalyst is formed by intimately mixing a catalyst precursor composition into a heavy oil feedstock and raising the temperature of the feedstock to above the decomposition temperature of the precursor composition to form the colloidal or molecular catalyst in situ. Asphaltene or other hydrocarbon molecules otherwise too large to diffuse into the pores of the fixed bed catalyst can be upgraded by the colloidal or molecular catalyst.
