  • Publication number: 20110119169
Abstract: The present invention is a method and system for facilitating a settlement negotiation of a debt between a debtor and a creditor whereby settlement proposals are automatically and intelligently generated, based upon the financial circumstances of the debtor and a pattern of decision-making behavior of the creditor, and are sent throughout the duration of the negotiation process until an acceptable proposal is secured. Furthermore, the present invention also provides an automatic, streamlined framework for the user or client to budget for and carry through with payment of the debt in accordance with the agreed upon settlement. This negotiation and settlement process occurs without any direct contact between the debtor and the creditor, or an outside intermediary, by automating a significant part of the negotiation and repayment process whereby the process is transparent and visible to the debtor and creditor.

  • Patent number: 7908289
Abstract: There is provided a system for visually associating a search region containing search criteria with a search category from which the results of a search are found. The system contains a search region containing a user's search criteria, a result region comprising indicia of several search categories, and a connection indicator establishing a visual connection between the search term contained in a search region and a selected one of search category indicia so as to enable a user to make a cognitive connection indicating that the user's search term was found in the particular search category indicated by the connection indicator.

  • Patent number: 7865826
Abstract: A system and method of creating and presenting mathematical documents are provided. The system comprises an input/output component for receiving user input and for displaying a mathematical document on a display device, a document repository 104 for storing the mathematical document and a mathematical engine for performing computations. The document includes markup that specifies display options. The method comprises the steps of receiving input data that represent characters, symbols and mathematical operations as well as manipulations and presentation control of the mathematical document, displaying mathematical expressions or a combination of mathematical expressions and text in an electronic document, performing computations on the mathematical expressions contained in the document, and controlling the formatting and display of the document.
