  • Patent number: 8939634
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide for a lighting system for illuminating aisles with shelving. A rail can include a plurality of LEDs that extend along the length of the rail. The rail can be coupled with a node that includes various components along with an egress light source. The LEDs can be used to primarily illuminate the shelving on both or one side of the aisle. The egress light can be used to illuminate the aisle during times of emergency, at night, or when egress may be required.

  • Patent number: 8678605
Abstract: A two-component light fixture that includes a passive component and an active component is disclosed. In some embodiments, the active component is recessed within a ceiling or wall and the passive component is positioned below the active component. The active component emits light towards the passive component, which includes an optical element that can redirect the light by scattering, reflection, refraction, diffusion, total internal reflection and/or dispersion.
    Type: Grant
