  • Publication number: 20240110519
Abstract: A fuel delivery system includes a central shaft extending along a central axis. The central shaft includes a fuel passage extending into the central shaft along the central axis. The fuel delivery system further includes a heat transfer volume radially outward from the central shaft and fluidically connected to the fuel passage. A combustor chamber is fluidically connected to the heat transfer volume.

  • Patent number: 10215232
Abstract: A bearing with non-uniform cage clearance is provided. The bearing may comprise an inner ring having a first inner ring surface radially opposite a second inner ring surface; bearing elements in contact with the first inner ring surface; an outer bearing ring surrounding the inner bearing ring and the bearing elements; and a bearing cage having a first bearing cage surface radially opposite a second bearing cage surface and configured to surround and retain the bearing elements. At least one of the first inner ring surface, the first bearing cage surface, the second bearing cage surface, or a second outer ring surface of the outer ring may comprise an out of round shape having one or more peaks and one or more valleys relative to a radial centerpoint of the bearing.

  • Patent number: 8980204
Abstract: A process for the clean-up of a crude syngas stream having widely varying composition and particulate load. The process includes quenching the crude syngas stream with a liquid stream to cool the syngas stream and remove particulates, tars and heavier hydrocarbon compounds. The process further includes co-scrubbing the syngas stream to remove both HCl and NH3 from the syngas stream, removing particulate matter from the syngas stream, and removing sulfur from the syngas stream. A syngas treatment system is also disclosed.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6910432
Abstract: A method for combusting a fuel in a cyclone combustor having a burner and a barrel includes: feeding a stream of the fuel into the barrel at the burner end of the barrel; feeding a stream(s) of a first oxidant (e.g., air) having a first oxygen concentration into the barrel at a first flowrate, the stream(s) of the first oxidant including a predominant stream; feeding a stream(s) of a second oxidant (e.g., oxygen) having a second oxygen concentration into the barrel at a second flowrate and in a selective manner, whereby a portion of the first oxidant combines with a portion of the second oxidant, thereby forming a combined oxidant having a combined oxygen concentration, and a portion of the first oxidant from the predominant stream continues having the first oxygen concentration; and combusting a portion of the fuel with a portion of the combined oxidant in the barrel.
