  • Publication number: 20140358599
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards systems and methods for improved access to an attraction via a computing device of a user. A first computing device of a user records an identification code associated with an attraction. The first computing device transmits, to a second computing device, a request for access to the attraction, the request comprising the identification code. The first computing device receives, from the second computing device, an access authorization comprising an access code. The first computing device presents the access code to an attraction operator for access to the attraction.

  • Publication number: 20140298018
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for efficiently distributing and storing access control clients within a network. In one embodiment, the access clients include electronic Subscriber Identity Modules (eSIMs), and an eSIM distribution network infrastructure is described which enforces eSIM uniqueness and conservation, distributes network traffic to prevent “bottle necking” congestion, and provides reasonable disaster recovery capabilities. In one variant, eSIMs are securely stored at electronic Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC) appliances which ensure eSIM uniqueness and conservation. Access to the eUICC appliances is made via multiple eSIM depots, which ensure that network load is distributed. Persistent storage is additionally described, for among other activities, archiving and backup.

  • Publication number: 20140000798
Abstract: A first substrate advances in the first direction and a second substrate advances in the second direction. The first substrate advances onto an outer circumferential surface of a drum in a stretched state. The first substrate may be cut into discrete lengths of elastic substrate. The drum may be configured with vacuum to hold the discrete length of elastic substrate in a stretched state. The second substrate may advance in the second direction by a conveyor. The conveyor includes a roller having a curved outer surface that deforms the second substrate so as to define a curve in the first direction. A tamper apparatus intermittently displaces a deformed portion of the second substrate into contact with a discrete length of elastic substrate on the outer circumferential surface of the drum. The discrete length of elastic substrate bonds with the second substrate and is removed from the drum.

  • Patent number: 8616760
Abstract: An apparatus and method for combining multiple materials into a stream. The multiple materials may include both a major material and one or more minor materials. The minor materials are added using inlet tubes. The major and minor materials are added at transient or steady state flow rates, depending upon a command from a control signal. The apparatus and method utilize a control system which does not have flow control valves, flow control feedback loops or a dynamic mix tank. The actual flow rates track the commanded flow rates, but deviate by an error. The claimed arrangement provides a time-based error believed to be unobtainable in the prior art.

  • Publication number: 20130122864
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for managing access control clients (e.g., electronic Subscriber Identity Modules (eSIMs)). In one embodiment, secure elements (e.g., electronic Universal Integrated Circuit Cards (eUICCs)) and management entities of secure elements are associated with credentials. Post-deployment managerial operations can be executed, by transmitting the requested operation with the appropriate credentials. For example, a device can receive secure software updates to electronic Subscriber Identity Modules (eSIMs), with properly credentialed network entities.

  • Patent number: 8346618
Abstract: A smart-card based system and methods to control access to a plurality of attractions within a geographical area. The system may include one or more reward terminals that are located at attractions and are configured to read smart cards presented to them and, assuming the card is valid for that location, allow the card holder to access the attraction. Each smart card may be programmed with a product code that defines the attractions at which the card may be used. Product codes may be stored in a central database along with a list of the attractions associated with the each product code. The list of attractions may be updated as desired, thereby updating and changing the attractions at which any given card may be used.

  • Publication number: 20120323691
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards systems and methods for enhanced marketing responsive to customer path data between attractions. A first device receives an identification of a location of a user and a first attraction selected for access by a user. A path analyzer of the device determines a travel path between the location of the user and the first attraction. The path analyzer identifies a second attraction within a predetermined distance from the travel path. The first device transmits, to a computing device of the user, an offer of access to the second attraction.

  • Publication number: 20120265630
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards systems and methods for balancing a business margin against a target customer value to fulfill a request to purchase a plurality of items. An initial sale price for a request to purchase the items is calculated, the initial sale price based on a sum of retail prices for the items, discounted by a predetermined target customer value. An initial business margin for the request is determined, the initial business margin based on the sum of the retail prices for the items minus a sum of predetermined net prices for the items. The initial sale price is adjusted to create an intermediate sale price, responsive to the initial business margin being outside a range defined by a lower business margin threshold and an upper business margin threshold, and the intermediate sale price is compared to the initial sale price to create a final sale price.

  • Publication number: 20120260090
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for storing and controlling access control clients. In one embodiment, transmitting and receiving devices ensure that only one copy of an eSIM is active at any time. Specifically, each transferred eSIM is encrypted for the destination device; the eSIM from the source device is deleted, deactivated, or otherwise rendered unusable. Various aspects of network infrastructure are also described, including electronic Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC) appliances, and mobile devices. Various scenarios for transfer of eSIMs are also disclosed.
