  • Publication number: 20180017025
Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for a drain system for an EGR system of an engine system. In one example, the drain system includes a connector fluidly coupled to each of an intake system, an exhaust system, and a fluid collector, where the connector is positioned vertically below an intake manifold of the intake system and an exhaust passage of the exhaust system and vertically above the fluid collector with respect to a surface on which an engine sits.

  • Publication number: 20170152815
Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for an exhaust gas recirculation system. In one example, an exhaust gas recirculation cooler includes a first section, arranged proximate to an exhaust gas inlet of the EGR cooler and including a first plurality of tubes and a first plurality of fins coupled to the first plurality of tubes, where at least one of the first plurality of tubes and the first plurality of fins are comprised of a first material that has a first coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE); and a second section, arranged downstream of the first section and including a second plurality of tubes and a second plurality of fins coupled to the second plurality of tubes, where the second plurality of tubes and the second plurality of fins are comprised of a second material that has a second CTE, the second CTE greater than the first CTE.

  • Publication number: 20160208744
Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for an exhaust gas recirculation system. In one example, an exhaust gas recirculation cooler includes an exhaust gas inlet and an exhaust gas outlet spaced from the exhaust gas inlet; a plurality of cooling tubes disposed between the exhaust gas inlet and exhaust gas outlet; and a baffle positioned proximate to the exhaust gas inlet and interposed between the plurality of cooling tubes and the exhaust gas inlet, where the baffle directs exhaust gas entering the EGR cooler through the exhaust gas inlet to the plurality of cooling tubes in a defined path.

  • Publication number: 20130231806
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for operating a vehicle including an engine comprising a turbocharger including a compressor and a turbine. The engine further includes a bypass path configured to selectively route gas from downstream of the compressor to upstream of the turbine. In one embodiment, the method comprises selectively increasing gas flow to the engine by adjusting gas flow through the bypass path from downstream of the compressor to upstream of the turbine. In this manner, the performance of the engine may be adjusted for various operating conditions.
