  • Patent number: 11970801
Abstract: A non-woven chopped fiber mat includes a mixture of glass fibers and synthetic fibers. The non-woven mat is formed using a binder composition that includes a binder resin, a coupling agent, and a corrosion inhibitor. The non-woven mat is non-corrosive and resistant to volatile unsaturated monomers such as styrene, but still remains fully compatible with solvent-containing polyester resins, such that it can be used in various pultruded products.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 1, 2022
Date of Patent: April 30, 2024
Assignee: Owens Corning Intellectual Capital, LLC
Inventors: Jianhui Wu, Kevin Spoo, Jeff Pessell
  • Publication number: 20230094460
Abstract: A composite rebar having ridges formed therein by grinding is buffed and/or coated to reduce the surface roughness caused by fibers extending from the rebar.
    Type: Application
    Filed: February 23, 2021
    Publication date: March 30, 2023

  • Publication number: 20050183813
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a composite sheet, a reinforcement panel is provided including an air permeable core and an air impermeable surface layer. Perforations are formed in the reinforcement panel that extend through the surface layer and do not extend through the reinforcement panel. A mold surface is provided onto which the composite sheet may be formed. At least one outer coat of material is applied onto the mold surface. At least one coat of resin and reinforcement material is applied over the outer coat to form a reinforcement layer. The perforated reinforcement panel is applied to the reinforcement layer. Air is removed from the composite sheet.
