    Abstract: A highchair includes a chair assembly, a frame assembly supporting the chair assembly above a supporting surface, and a removable support insert for positioning and supporting the upper torso of an infant seated in the highchair. The chair assembly includes a seat portion, a back rest portion, and opposing side arm rest portions which all cooperate to support a child seated in the chair assembly. The removable torso support includes a generally planar center portion, and a pair of side portions which are integrally attached to the side edges of the center portion along living hinges. Each of the side portions includes an inner segment and outer segment which are rigidly connected in angular relation. The insert can be positioned in an operative position on the chair assembly wherein the center portion is secured to the lower back rest portion of the chair.

    Abstract: A highchair for an infant or toddler includes a seat element, a frame assembly for supporting the seat element on a supporting surface, and a feeding tray assembly on the seat element. The feeding tray assembly includes a center support and retaining post which is secured to the front center portion of the seat element and a tray element which is adjustably secured to the upper end of the center support and retaining post. The center support and retaining post is operative for preventing a child from sliding downwardly between the seat element and the tray element regardless of the adjusted position of the tray element, and the seat element is secured to the frame assembly so that it is both vertically adjustable and reclinable.

    Abstract: A retractable handle assembly is disclosed, comprising an elongate handle body (8, 10) having a lower end pivotally attached to an upper surface of the storage case, and extendable from a retracted position to an extended position. The handle body is adapted having an elongate internal cavity, and a profiled opening (56) extending through a lower surface. A release spring plate member (16) is fixedly mounted at one end within the handle body cavity, and has a profiled free end extending within the cavity in cantilever fashion toward handle lower body end. The release spring plate member pivots about the anchored end in a direction transverse to a longitudinal axis of the handle body. A handle link plate member (22) is further provided having a lower end pivotally attached to the case upper surface, inboard of the handle lower end.
