  • Patent number: 7025644
Abstract: This water board sport system comprises a water skimming board device attached to one end of a resilient buoyant tether, the other end of which is secured to an anchor to provide a rider of the board with motive force from flowing water. The tether comprises a braid of mandrel-dipped latex tubing for extreme elongation. A rider may maneuver the board to stretch the tether, charging it as a cocked spring. Release of the force stored in the stretched tether propels the board and its rider upstream at speeds much greater than that of the water flow alone allowing the rider to fly at or above the water surface. Control features designed into the board enhance its maneuverability. Safety features are part of the system to ensure that the user may safely enjoy using it.
