  • Patent number: 10893102
Abstract: A versioned file storage system (VFS) and method for operating and using the same is disclosed. In an aspect, a mechanism is provided wherein a first VFS interface unit coupling the VFS to a local data storage system is replaced with a second VFS interface unit in a coordinated procedure for taking the first unit offline, making a reliable snapshot of its data and cache structure in the VFS, and loading the same data and cache structure into the second VFS interface brought online. The first and second VFS interfaces transfer the necessary data to achieve the switch through respective side-loading daemons running in each interface. Clients in the local data storage system experience minimal interruption of services in the VFS.

  • Patent number: 10887808
Abstract: In one embodiment, a vehicle having a plurality of network interfaces communicates with a first communication network via a first one of the network interfaces. The vehicle receives performance data regarding the first communication network and one or more other communication network, wherein the received performance data is associated with a particular location. The vehicle determines in advance of arriving at the particular location that the vehicle should switch from communicating with the first communication network to communicating with a selected one of the one or more other communication network, based on the received performance data. At the particular location, the vehicle switches from communicating with the first communication network via the first network interface to communicating with the selected communication network via a second one of the plurality of network interfaces.

  • Publication number: 20200406157
Abstract: An article for soap bubble generation is provided as a liquid-resistant wearable article. A web is provided integrally with the article having at least one hole adapted to form soap bubbles when the web is dipped in bubble solution and air is moved through the at least one hole. Preferably, the article has films of liquid-resistant material sealed at a common edge and a pocket therebetween. The pocket may be shaped to receive a body part such as a hand (e.g., the article is glove/mitten-shaped). The article substantially prevents a body part inside the pocket from touching the bubble solution when the web is dipped in the bubble solution while the article is being worn. Different sizes of holes may be provided in the web to generate different sizes of bubbles.

  • Publication number: 20200342164
Abstract: An electronic input document presented on a display of a client is examined to identify a text unit in the electronic input document and contextual information about the input document. A set of annotations for the text unit and the input document are determined responsive to the contextual information for the text unit. Responsive to the set of annotations, a set of candidate texts are identified from a corpus of documents that can replace the text unit. The candidate texts are evaluated in the set of candidate texts to identify a subset of the set of candidate texts as a set of replacement texts for the text unit. At least one replacement text from the set of replacement texts is presented on the display of the client.

  • Patent number: 10688464
Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to methods of inhibiting corrosion in reaction chambers configured for hydrothermal reaction of feeds containing a heteroatom. An embodiment of such a method comprises providing a feed stream comprising a phosphorus-containing material, an alkali metal compound, water, and a corrosion-inhibitor. The embodiment additionally includes introducing the feed stream and oxidant into a reactor chamber and oxidizing the phosphorus-containing material at an oxidation temperature greater than about 374° C. and an oxidation pressure exceeding about 25 bar, wherein the reactor chamber has inner surfaces comprising a material that corrodes when in contact with a phosphorus compound within the reactor. The embodiment additionally includes selectively reacting the corrosion-inhibitor with phosphorus within the reactor, thereby precipitating in the reactor chamber a phosphorus-containing solid inorganic compound.

  • Publication number: 20200178723
Abstract: An apparatus and method for sharing capsule image data and beverage preparation parameters, from one or more beverage preparation machines with a remote computer system via a network, such as the Internet, is disclosed. The remote computer system may process the capsule image data to determine characteristics of the capsule (e.g., a type of capsule, such as a brand, or beverage ingredients in the capsule), thereby relieving the beverage preparation from having to determine information about the capsule. The remote computer may track a user's consumption of capsules, may compare this value to the user's past capsule purchase history, and may determine if the user's supply of capsules is below a threshold value (e.g., below a week's worth of capsules).

  • Publication number: 20200155789
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for determining an efficacy of music therapy are provided. An example system initiates a music therapy session for a patient on a music therapy device. The system provides the patient with a predefined type of music during the music therapy session at a pre-defined volume. The system ends the music therapy session. The system then receives a request to determine an efficacy of music therapy sessions for the patient for a defined time period and obtains personal and listening metrics associated with the patient's music therapy sessions for the defined time period. The system correlates the personal and listening metrics with the patient's medical metrics for the defined time period in order to determine the efficacy of music therapy sessions for the patient.
