Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a structure and method of reducing refrigerator noise incident to a compressor failure. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a structure and method of reducing refrigerator noise which is likely to occur due to collision of pipes or the like with surrounding structures when a compressor installed inside a refrigerator machine room stops operating. The noise preventing/reducing structure includes a support member protruding from a wall surface or a bottom surface of the refrigerator machine room and a protective member configured to surround at least a part of a pipe installed in the refrigerator machine room. The support member comprises: a cavity having one side open; a seating surface disposed in the cavity and configured to support the protective member seated thereon; and a raised portion protruding from the seating surface.

Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and a method of securing a compressor in a refrigerator. More particularly, the present invention relates to an apparatus and a method of securing a compressor in a refrigerator, the apparatus being capable of preventing the compressor from being separated from the refrigerator when the refrigerator is moved, such as during transportation of the refrigerator, and reducing a possibility of failure that may be caused by such separation. The apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: first and second mounting rods arranged to be distanced from each other; securing members coupled to the first and second mounting rods; and a reinforcing member coupled to the first and second mounting rods to be mounted on the securing members.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a refrigerator having a foreign matter blocking function. The refrigerator includes: a screen member detachably coupled to an upper end frame of a door compartment of a refrigerating chamber; and a coupling member which is disposed on the upper end frame of the door compartment of the refrigerating chamber and to which the screen member is coupled. The screen member has a function of preventing foreign matter such as fruit flies from entering the door compartment of the refrigerating chamber. Since the screen member is configured to be easily attachable to and detachable from the upper end frame of the door compartment of the refrigerating chamber, it ensures ease of cleaning and use.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a refrigerator having a centrifugal fan-duct assembly including a body having a storage room therein; and the centrifugal fan-duct assembly in the storage room, configured to separate a flow of cool air and a flow of defrosted water from each other, in order to prevent freezing in the cool air passage. Since the flow and/or directions of cool air and the defrosted water are different and/or separate from each other, the cool air passage is prevented from freezing.
