  • Patent number: 8937907
Abstract: A method and apparatus for extended access barring (EAB) in a wireless communication system. In detail, the present description proposes EAB indication information, which is included in the paging message. The EAB indication information is included in the paging message only when as least one access class (AC) is barred by EAB operation of the network. Alternatively, the EAB indication information can be included in the paging message when EAB information in a system information block (SIB) has been changed or updated. Further, the present description proposes a timer associated with the EAB indication information. The timer is used to ensure the validity of the EAB indication information to the UE while the timer is running by a user equipment (UE). While the timer is running, a specific value or information indicated by the EAB indication information in a paging message is assumed to be valid/correct by the UE.

  • Patent number: 8923245
Abstract: The present invention relates to a handover method for a mobile communication system. The handover method according to the present invention informs a current state to a serving base station(BS) when a re-entry process has been delayed or a handover has failed due to an error occurred in the handover procedure during handover, and receives from the serving BS a status information response message containing available interval and unavailable interval reset information and link disconnection time reset information for extending the link disconnection time. So, the present invention minimizes or prevents a handover delay or extend a link disconnection time with the serving BS, thereby allowing a terminal to receive a continuous service even during the handover procedure.

  • Patent number: 8867433
Abstract: A method of transmitting data in a wireless access system and a packet retransmitting method therein are disclosed. The present invention includes receiving an initial control message including information required for a packet retransmission from a base station, transmitting the packet to be provided with a service from the base station, and if a NACK (non-acknowledgement) signal is received from the base station, retransmitting the packet corresponding to the NACK signal to the base station using the information required for the packet retransmission and included in the initial control message. Therefore, since a separate control message needs not to be transmitted in case of packet retransmission, it is able to save radio resources and reduce an overhead by retransmitting a packet via a previously allocated retransmission region without the separate control message.
