In one example, the hybrid electrical-optical interface includes a connector body configured to mate with an universal serial bus (USB) component in accordance with a predetermined mechanical misalignment tolerance, a plurality of electrical conduits disposed within the connector body and configured to pass electrical signals, and an optical conduit disposed within the connector body between at least two of the electrical conduits, wherein the optical conduit is configured to pass optical signals through a free space gap formed while the connector body is mated with the USB component, and configured to maintain communication of the optical signals through the free space gap while the connector body and the USB component are within the misalignment tolerance. Additional implementations and related methods are also provided.

    Abstract: The present invention includes (a) dividing the reservoir in a coalbed methane (CBM) development area through computer modeling and thereby forming a three-dimensional grids having a plurality of cell, (b) actually forming drilling holes in the development area and thereby obtaining core samples for each depth, (c) modeling the amounts of ash, water, and gas in each of the cells, (d) modeling the pressure change over time in each of the cells under a premise in which a production well is formed in the grids, and (e) performing a Langmuir experiment for the core samples, determining a Langmuir function for a maximum amount of gas adsorption with pressure and amounts of ash and water as variables, and applying the Langmuir function to each of the cells to calculate an amount of gas detected due to pressure change over time.

Based on the optimizer tree, a query execution plan is generated for the execution of the query. The positions of the symbols of the query is copied from the optimizer tree into the query execution plan. The query execution plan is sent to a query execution engine. The query is executed in accordance with the query execution plan. When a runtime error is detected, an exception message associated with the runtime error is displayed. The error message includes an error code and the positions of the symbols of the query.

An optical system production unit produces an optical system in which the virtual screen is located at the location selected by the location selection unit.

    Abstract: An optimistic, latch-free index traversal (“OLFIT”) concurrency control scheme is disclosed for an index structure for managing a database system. In each node of an index tree, the OLFIT scheme maintains a latch, a version number, and a link to the next node at the same level of the index tree. Index traversal involves consistent node read operations starting from the root. To ensure the consistency of node read operations without latching, every node update operation first obtains a latch and increments the version number after update of the node contents. Every node read operation begins with reading the version number into a register and ends with verifying if the current version number is consistent with the register-stored version number. If they are the same, the read operation is consistent. Otherwise, the node read is retried until the verification succeeds. The concurrency control scheme of the present invention is applicable to many index structures such as the B+-tree and the CSB+-tree.
