  • Patent number: 8394997
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the isomerization of 2,2,4,4-tetraalkylcyclobutane-1,3-diols, such as 2,2,4,4-tetramethylcyclobutane-1,3-diol, by contacting the diol with a supported ruthenium catalyst in the presence of hydrogen at elevated pressures and temperatures. The process is carried under conditions in which there is no net production of 2,2,4,4-tetraalkylcyclobutane-1,3-diol. The process may be carried out in the presence or absence of a solvent and in the liquid or vapor phase.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 7973194
Abstract: Diesters of 1,4-cyclohexane dicarboxylate are surprisingly more efficient PVC plasticizers and fuse PVC faster and at a lower temperature than similar phthalates or terephthalate diesters. Hydrogenated orthophthalate diesters are slower fusing, i.e., require higher temperatures, than do the corresponding orthophthalate diesters.

  • Patent number: 7810391
Abstract: An aerodynamic hood lift deflection measurement device includes an airfoil body mounted to a front vehicle fender such that a portion of the airfoil body held over the vehicle hood. A laser measurement device is secured to the airfoil body in a position so as to be directly over the vehicle hood. The airfoil body is mounted at an angle such that a length direction of the airfoil body is parallel to an air flow direction. The resultant disruption of the air flow surrounding the vehicle hood is minimized due to the shape and positioning of the measurement device.

  • Publication number: 20060081984
Abstract: Techniques are provided for reducing the power supply voltage drop introduced by routing conductive traces on an integrated circuit. Techniques for reducing variations in the power supply voltages received in different regions of an integrated circuit are also provided. Power supply voltages are routed within an integrated circuit across conductive traces. The conductive traces are coupled to solder bumps that receive power supply voltages from an external source. Alternate ones of the traces receive a high power supply voltage VDD and a low power supply voltage VSS. The conductive traces reduce the voltage drop in the power supply voltages by providing shorter paths to route the power supply voltages to circuit elements on the integrated circuit.

Techniques for reducing variations in the power supply voltages received in different regions of an integrated circuit are also provided. Power supply voltages are routed within an integrated circuit across conductive traces. The conductive traces are coupled to bond pads that receive power supply voltages from an external source. Alternate ones of the traces receive a high power supply voltage VDD and a low power supply voltage VSS. The conductive traces reduce the voltage drop in the power supply voltages by providing shorter paths to route the power supply voltages to circuit elements on the integrated circuit.

  • Patent number: 6177574
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the preparation of a mixture of benzoxazolyl-stilbene compounds by the reaction of unsubstituted 4,4′-bis(benzoxazol-2-yl)stilbene with a substituted o-aminophenol or o-aminonaphthol to obtain a mixture comprising the unsubstituted 4,4′-bis(benzoxazol-2-yl)stilbene and at least one substituted 4,4′-bis(benzoxazol-2-yl)stilbene, 4-naphthoxazol-2-yl-4′-benzoxazol-2-ylstilbene and/or 4,4′-bis(naphthoxazol-2-yl)stilbene. These mixtures are useful as fluorescent brightening agents and light stabilizers for synthetic polymeric materials such as polyesters, polyamide and polyolefin textile materials and shaped articles.

  • Patent number: 5832450
Abstract: An electronic medical record system stores data about patient encounters arising from a content generator in free-form text. A header for each encounter record also uses text to store context information for each encounter record. Each header comprises a plurality of attributes embodied as a field descriptor and a value, bound together as a text object. By binding the field descriptors to the values, each encounter record is complete in itself, without reference to database keys, thereby providing a self-validating record storage system.
