Abstract: A strapping system using a novel buckle wherein one end portion of the buckle is attached to one end of a flat non-metallic strap, and the other end of the strap is threaded though the buckle in such a manner that the strap is held securely in place, and wherein the buckle is of a unitary structure comprising the attaching end portion and the threaded end portion in which are located two outer parallel legs and a center leg with two slots respectively therebetween, and with the walls of the slot closest to the attaching end being generally parallel to each other and positioned at an angle of between 45.degree. and up to less than 90.degree. as measured from the top or bottom surface of the buckle depending on the orientation of the walls of the slot.

Abstract: A simple, compact and easily useable cutting device for cutting non-metallic straps, wherein a hand held plastic frame is provided with a metallic sharpened blad held in a substantially vertical position in one embodiment and in a substantially horizontal position in another embodiment, with the frame having a lower leg for holding the strap looped thereabout and held by a vertical protrusion, and wherein horizontal movement device while holding the looped strap securely the one embodiment blade cuts the strap through the edge thereof, and wherein by rotating the device while securely holding the looped strap, the other embodiment blade cuts the strap through the edtge first and then through the bottom width of the strap.

Abstract: A device for protecting the outer side surface of a vehicle comprising a protective sheet attached to a rod with the rod being attached to hangers disposed on the windows of the vehicle, wherein the rod is foldable so as to make for compactness and be easily stored when the sheet is then rolled around the folded rod. When the protective sheet is next to the car door, for example, when parked, any externally applied force, such as exerted by a neighboring parked car, will be absorbed by the device. The hanger comprises a hooked end connected to an elongated base which can be readily retracted into a horizontal or parallel position with the hook end being fitted over a window of the vehicle to the rod in a stored position, and into a vertical or perpendicular position in the operated position, so that compactness is enhanced and simplicity is maintained.

Abstract: A safety device for preventing a rider from going over the shoulder of a horse when the horse stops suddenly, wherein the device comprises a strap tied around the body of the horse, a hollow rigid rod connected by a detaching device to the strap, and a rope retractably held within the rod and connected at one end to the waist of the rider and extendible to a first length to loosely be connected to the rider in the normal sitting position and to a second length to tightly hold the rider in a stretched position out of the saddle and over the sholder of the horse when the horse stops suddenly. The detaching device enables the rod holding the rope to move a certain range of angles to either side of a line extending from the end of the horse to the head of the horse, and when the rod travels beyond that range detaches the rod from the strap so that a rider can fall freely to the side of the horse without restraint from the rope.
