  • Publication number: 20060256299
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a projection apparatus comprises a projection unit to emit projection light on an object in a first direction, a light emitting unit to irradiate the object with a ray in a second direction which is different from the first direction by approximately four (4) degrees to thirty (30) degrees, a light receiving unit to receive reflected light from the object from the ray irradiated by the light emitting unit in a third direction which is different from the first direction by approximately four (4) degrees to thirty (30) degrees, and a control unit to adjust the projection light to be emitted by the projection unit in accordance with the reflected light received by the light receiving unit.

  • Publication number: 20060139582
Abstract: In a projection display apparatus of this invention, a projection lens projects an image onto a screen. A video signal output circuit outputs a distance measurement image to the lens. A line sensor receives, by a plurality of light-receiving elements aligned along a direction crossing the projection optical axis of the lens, distance measurement image light which is projected on the screen by the lens and reflected by the screen, and outputs a signal corresponding to a position at which the distance measurement image light is received. A control unit calculates a distance between the lens and the screen by a trigonometric distance measurement on the basis of the signal output from the line sensor, and outputs a control signal based on the calculated distance. A motor driving circuit adjusts the focus of the lens on the basis of the control signal output by the control unit.

  • Patent number: 6826297
Abstract: Multiple objects having the same physical property within a subject are displayed as distinct three-dimensional images in one or more views. Projection data obtained by scanning the subject with electromagnetic radiation are used to create a spatial distribution of absorption values for the subject that is displayed as an image on an image display unit. The spatial distribution is also stored as a series of voxels representing a three-dimensional image of the subject. Particular spatial regions within the image are defined as objects, with each object comprising a set of voxels. The objects are grouped into one or more views using a set selection panel on the image display unit. A density, gradient and color for each object in a view are determined based on properties input through the a series of object property setting panels on the image display unit. Each object in a particular view is associated with one of the property setting panels.
