Abstract: A device for mounting an axle of a rearwardly connected vehicle in twin-type motor scraper has first and second support brackets fixedly secured to and projecting from both the left and right sides of a bottom portion of a rear frame of the vehicle, a third support bracket fixedly secured to and projecting from a substantially central portion of a cross-member located at a rear part of the rear frame, and mounting brackets fixedly secured to and projecting from an axle housing so as to correspond to the support brackets respectively. Each of the mounting brackets is connected to each of the support brackets by means of a pivot pin.

Abstract: A control system for a push-pull unit mounted on a motor scraper has a push-pull control circuit including a bail actuating cylinder and a directional change-over valve, a suspension control circuit and an electric operating circuit for changing over the directional change-over valve to supply fluid under pressure from a hydraulic pump into either the push-pull control circuit or the suspension control circuit in accordance with the operator's indication. The directional change-over valve is changed over by an actuator connected with a pressure source through a pressurized medium passage in which solenoid operated valves controlled by the electric operating circuit are provided.

Abstract: A muffler for a vehicle mounted on a hood of an engine compartment, comprising an outer cylindrical member having a plurality of openings formed in the lower side wall thereof, an inner cylindrical member mounted on the bottom wall of the outer cylindrical member, the inner cylindrical member being connected to an exhaust pipe and reduced in diameter at the upper side wall thereof, and an extension pipe connected to the upper end of the outer cylindrical member wherein the outer cylindrical member is mounted on the hood in such a manner that the approximately lower half thereof is positioned under the hood.

Abstract: A noise-proof and air-cooled enclosure system for an engine comprising a radiator compartment, a generally enclosed engine compartment separated from said radiator compartment by a partition wall, said radiator compartment being arranged sideways with respect to said engine compartment, and an ejector utilizing the flow of gases from an engine exhaust pipe for creating a relatively low pressure within an air outlet from said engine compartment to draw ambient cooling air through said radiator compartment into said engine compartment around said engine and out of said air outlet.
