  • Patent number: 7254854
Abstract: A multi-functional compact clipper for fishing includes a rotatable base plate and an upper and lower holding plates that form a space therebetween. The rotatable base plate has a pair of upper and lower grooves at one end, an axial end at another end, a stop disposed a at middle rear side and a needle at an inside wall of a hollow formed on a front side. The rotatable base plate connects elastically with a threaded device and pivotally with the holding plates. The threading device provides a threading wire and a slit connecting with the grooves of the rotatable base plate. The upper holding plate is provided with a cutter set magnetically in a hole of a projected end of the upper holding plate. The rotatable base plate is pivotally folding into and drawn out of the space between the holding plates. The stop limits the rotation of the rotatable base plate by engagement with cavities formed on the upper and lower holding plates.

  • Patent number: 6578787
Abstract: A method and bobbin holder for manufacturing a fishing fly includes a check member for elastically and frictionally engaging the line to provide tension in the line and prevent slackening or loosening of the line when the line is drawn from the bobbin or cut. The bobbin holder is formed from a v-shaped holder having a guide rod extending from the apex of the v-shape and the check member is located between the bobbin and the guide rod. The frictional engagement of the line is a slit formed in an elastic material forming the check member. The slit can be formed by a diametrical cut in a tubular member or be the interface between two layers of the material. A fastener supports the check member between the tube and the bobbin and may also provide a compression to the layers.

  • Patent number: 6079148
Abstract: An fly holding mat for fishing having at least a fly holding stair and at least a cut-out portion, within an area of an elastic rectangular mat. The fly holding stair is provides a plurality of through slits which are of the same length and the same lateral interval therebetween. A plurality of fly guide slots for the slits are located at one vertical side of the stair or on the upper surface of the stair. A connecting portion of the stair forms a frame for the fly holding mat at another vertical side of the stair. A fly can be inserted into the slit to hold it on the fly holding stair by insertion along an opening in a bottom of the fly guide slot.
