  • Publication number: 20090327953
Abstract: Web style navigation methods are applied across applications and webpages, whether local or web-based, and hypertext navigation methods used in the web are extended to local applications. Local and web applications are mixed seamlessly so that the user does not perceive any difference between navigation within either one of, or between, those types of applications. The user navigates between different user interface states, in and out of different types of applications. All views and states of views are recorded and the user can switch to a previous view, in the state in which it was viewed, using a back, history or other suitable state recording and retrieval function.

  • Publication number: 20050203998
Abstract: The invention concerns a method in a digital network system for controlling the transmission of terminal equipments. Terminal equipment includes a PTT (Push-to-Talk) function in order to at least activate the transmission to be carried out to the said network system, and wherein the terminal equipment for voice control of the said PTT function also includes a VOX (Voice Operated transmission) feature, which can be activated/passivated and which is implemented by a VRE (Voice Recognition Engine) function. In the method stops are performed—the VRE function is used to search for an established keyword from an audio signal,—the established keyword is recognised from the audio signal,—a turn to transmit is requested from the network system,—a turn to transmit is received from the network system,—the transmission is connected and the granted turn to transmit is indicated,—the transmission is carried out, and—the transmission is passivated.

  • Patent number: 6546000
Abstract: A method for using channels in a time-division multiple access radio system which includes at least one base station and at least one mobile station and which operates on one or more carrier frequencies per base station. The carrier frequencies are divided into a plurality of physical channels including time slots and a predetermined number of time slots forming a frame. One of the base station's carriers is a main carrier on which a main control channel operates. At least one physical channel of the main carrier is used for transmitting broadcast control channels and the last one of said at least one physical channel is allocated to a traffic channel only if the base station does not have other physical channels available.

  • Patent number: 6545995
Abstract: A method of maintaining a group call in a mobile communication system comprising a network infrastructure and mobile stations, the method comprising the steps of: establishing a group call in which a first mobile station is prioritized and the mobile stations participating in said group call communicate in speech items, the frame structure comprising time slots that a second mobile station sending a speech item employs in its speech item. In the method, the first mobile station is allocated time slots or time periods in which only the first mobile station can transmit signalling messages to the network infrastructure; the first mobile station and the third mobile stations are transmitted data indicating in which time slots of time periods only the first mobile station can send signalling messages to the network infrastructure; and the third mobile stations refrain from sending their signalling messages in the time slots or time periods allocated to the first mobile station.

  • Publication number: 20020006806
Abstract: The invention relates to a user interface for digital radio telephones intended to be used especially by the authorities. In a conventional radio telephone the functional elements constituting the user interface of the radio are placed on the front surface, sides and at the upper end of the radio telephone. In the user interface according to the invention, functional elements are additionally placed on the rear surface of the radio telephone. Because of the invention, the radio telephone can be used in two manners: At the front side of the phone, the apparatus can be used as a conventional digital phone, and when used at the rear side, the phone functions like a conventional walkie-talkie. A phone equipped with a user interface according to the invention can be attached to a carrying means placed on a shoulder strap, thus replacing separate headset-microphones and hands-free devices.

  • Patent number: 6230015
Abstract: A method of picking up mobile stations (DMRU1 to DMRU6) onto a direct mode channel (f2) in a radio system that comprises a first (f2) and a second (f1) direct mode channel, a repeater (R1) to which the first direct mode channel (f2) is allocated, and mobile stations (DMRU1 to DMRU6). In the method, the repeater (R1) tunes to and listens to the second direct mode channel (f1) and determines the moment when it can transmit on the second direct mode channel; the repeater (R1) transmits one or more pick-up messages on the second direct mode channel; the mobile stations (DMRU4, DMRU6, DMRU7) that communicate on the second direct mode channel (f1) receive the pick-up messages; and the desired mobile stations that communicate on the second direct mode channel (f1) switch, in response to the pick-up messages, to the first direct mode channel (f2) for communication.

  • Patent number: 6023626
Abstract: A method and a mobile unit for allocating speech items to mobile units communicating on a direct mode channel. In the method, a transmission of a first mobile unit is sent during the speech item of that mobile unit on the direct mode channel; a second mobile unit takes the speaking turn; and the transmission of the second mobile unit is sent during the speech item of the second mobile unit on the direct mode channel. The mobile units communicating on the direct mode channel are directed to operate in such a way that the first mobile unit is given the priority to start a speech item or request a speaking turn after the termination of the speech item of the second mobile unit before the other mobile units communicating on the direct mode channel.

  • Patent number: 5978367
Abstract: A method of synchronizing a telecommunications connection in a mobile communications system having at least one base station, and having a first and at least a second mobile station communicating on a direct mode channel, the first mobile station operating on the direct mode channel transmits a registration message to the base station of the mobile communications system on a system channel of the mobile communications system, the registration message indicating a wish of the first mobile station to operate in dual watch mode on the control channel of the mobile communications system. In response to the registration message, a specific control channel of the base station and the timing information related to the control channel are communicated to the first mobile station, the first mobile station switches to dual watch mode in order to communicate either on the direct mode channel or on the allocated control channel during the time indicated by the timing information.
