Patent number: 5129430Abstract: A weft processing apparatus for a jet loom comprises a first weft length measuring device installed at the far or downstream side of the warp shed through which the weft is inserted for measuring the length of a broken weft yarn piece. A weft withdrawal device for withdrawing a defective weft that has undergone abnormal insertion is provided at the entrance side of the warp shed. The length of the defective weft withdrawn by the withdrawal device is measured by a second weft length measuring device. A second weft withdrawal device may be provided at the far side of the warp shed for making it possible to measure the length of a broken weft yarn piece that might remain within the warp shed.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1991Date of Patent: July 14, 1992Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Toyoda Jidoshokki SeisakushoInventor: Kinpei Mitsuya

Patent number: 4890650Abstract: An apparatus and its method of operation whereby when a jet loom is deenergized upon occurrence of abnormality in the insertion of a weft, the cutting operation of an inserted weft cutting device is prevented. As a result, a weft succeeding to the misinserted one is forcibly introduced into a weft introducing duct under blowing action of a blow nozzle oriented in a direction intersecting the weft insertion direction to be transferred to a pair of gripper rollers. The weft is separated by cutting from a weft inserting main nozzle by a second weft cutter device. Subsequently, the misinserted weft is withdrawn in the direction away from a cloth fell toward a reed with inclination relative to the weft insertion path within a region where the weft remains out of contact with warps.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1988Date of Patent: January 2, 1990Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Toyoda Jidoshokki SeisakushoInventor: Kinpei Mitsuya

Patent number: 4784191Abstract: A device for storing a weft yarn for inserting in a jet loom, which is provided with a weft yarn retaining surface, is movable relative to a feed nozzle, for receiving a weft yarn ejected from the feed nozzle. The device is characterized in that a blacking member is arranged in such a manner that one end of the member is engaged with the weft yarn retaining surface at a depositing zone adjacent to the feed nozzle so as to block the fluid from the nozzle as would otherwise disturb the yarn deposited on the retaining surface. A gap is formed between the weft yarn retaining surface and the cover, which gap increases as a position moves away from the depositing zone towards the side where the stored weft yarn is withdrawn.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1985Date of Patent: November 15, 1988Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Toyoda Jidoshokki SeisakushoInventors: Yoshifumi Umemura, Yutaka Sato, Kinpei Mitsuya, Noboru Kobayashi, Kazuhiko Okubo, Masahiko Kako

Patent number: 4463783Abstract: In a jet loom in which a weft yarn is inserted through the warp shed by a jet of fluid such as air, the thickness of the weft yarn is detected prior to insertion continuously or at intervals with a yarn thickness detector, and the pressure of ejection of the fluid jet is controlled by a result of such detection so as to be optimum for the weft insertion. The jet of fluid is ejected from a nozzle member under the controlled pressure to insert the weft yarn reliably without insertion failures.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 1983Date of Patent: August 7, 1984Assignee: Seisakusho Kabushiki Kaisha Toyoda JidoshokkiInventors: Hajime Suzuki, Kinpei Mitsuya

Patent number: 4291528Abstract: An open end spinning machine includes a plurality of spinning units, in each of which a sliver is opened by a carding roller and transported, in the form of individually opened fibers, into a spinning rotor through a fiber supply channel provided in a housing for the carding roller. The supply channel has a mouth opening towards the carding roller with a fiber separating edge, which is greatly subject to wear during operation of the spinning unit. A portion of the carding roller housing, which defines at least the fiber separating edge, is detachable from another portion of the housing and is urged in a predetermined direction by a biassing spring so that any undesirable clearance, which would be produced between the portions of the housing by structurally separating them from each other, can substantially removed.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1979Date of Patent: September 29, 1981Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Toyoda Jidoshokki SeisakushoInventors: Noriaki Miyamoto, Masao Shiraki, Kinpei Mitsuya

Patent number: 4244176Abstract: A device for waxing a yarn in a spinning machine which includes an annular wax roll, and means for rotatably supporting the wax roll. The support means includes a solid cylindrical member integrally connected to the wax roll so as to project from one end of the wax roll, and a support spindle associated with the cylindrical member for allowing the integral rotation of the cylindrical member and the wax roll. The waxing device is disposed that the yarn, which travels from a supply of yarn to a yarn winding-up mechanism, contacts both the projected periphery of the cylindrical member and the one end of the wax roll. The rotation of the wax roll is caused mainly by the yarn contacting the solid cylindrical member so that the wax roll is not adversely affected by the yarn even when changes occur in the travel condition of the yarn, so that no grooves or concaved lines are formed in the end face of the wax roll.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1979Date of Patent: January 13, 1981Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Toyoda Jidoshokki SeisakushoInventors: Takeshi Shimizu, Kinpei Mitsuya
