  • Patent number: 7640778
Abstract: A servo drive system of a press machine includes a ram, an operation shaft which vertically moves the ram, and a servo motor which operates as a power source of the ram and which generates ram pressure using a torque based on at least one speed-torque characteristic of the servo motor. The operation shaft is directly driven using the servo motor. The at least one speed-torque characteristic of the servo motor is set in a manner such that a motor torque of the servo motor at which a capacity of electric energy supplied by a servo amplifier is determined becomes the motor torque at which an optimal punching pattern of the ram is generated from a light load to a heavy load according to a type of workpiece to be worked by the press machine.

  • Patent number: 7637139
Abstract: A continuous working system of a press machine includes a ram, an operation shaft which vertically moves the ram, and a servo motor which operates as a power source of the ram and which generates ram pressure using a torque based on at least one speed-torque characteristic of a motor. The operation shaft is directly driven using the servo motor. The operation shaft is continuously reciprocated and turned through an angle range corresponding to a distance between a predetermined lower end position required for press working by the ram and an upper end position such that the ram vertically moves between these positions by the servo motor, thereby subjecting a work to a continuous press working. The upper end position is set to a position slightly below a medium height of the entire vertically possible stroke of the ram. The lower end position is set to a position slightly above a bottom dead center of the entire vertically possible stroke of the ram.

  • Patent number: 7475584
Abstract: A servo drive system of a press machine has a pair of servo motors which can generate necessary ram pressure by compositing and using a torque based on the same speed-torque characteristics. The servo motors are symmetric with each other in a mirror image manner. The servo motors are opposed to each other at opposite ends of an operation shaft which vertically moves a ram. The servo motors are integrally operated, thereby directly driving the operation shaft.

  • Patent number: 4977804
Abstract: A punch press having a die formed with a diehole and mounted on a die holder and a punch set provided with a punch mounted on a punch holder for performing a punching process on a workpiece in cooperation with the die. The punch set is formed with a fluid discharge orifice for discharging a fluid into the diehole, and the punch is formed with a communication orifice communicating with the fluid discharge orifice. A ram for striking the punch is formed with a fluid supply orifice for freely communicating with the communicating orifice. A connecting pipe connects the fluid supply orifice with a fluid source; a shut-off valve is provided for opening or shutting of the connecting pipe, with a stroke position detector for detecting the stroke of the ram. A shut-off valve control is provided for controlling the opening or shutting of the shut-off valve according to the values detected by the stroke position detector.

  • Patent number: RE34602
Abstract: To eliminate defects such as burr, rollover, sags, scar, etc. from cut-off surfaces of a workpiece in a turret punch press, for instance, a novel height-different punch formed with a lower front edge, an upper rear edge, and an intermediate edge extending between the two edges is used for the punch press. While feeding the workpiece on a horizontal plane in a predetermined direction, the punch is struck by a striker at a first stroke so that the lower front edge thereof cuts off the workpiece partially in cooperation with a die; at the succeeding strokes so that the intermediate edge thereof cuts off the workpiece mincingly and curls refuse within a recess of the die; and at the last stroke so that the upper rear edge thereof cuts curled refuse away from the workpiece to complete a multistroke punching operation.
