  • Patent number: 6093237
Abstract: An air cleaner arrangement useful for cleaning air in ablative thermal imaging processes includes a housing and a removable and replaceable element assembly. The housing has an interior, an inlet conduit, and an outlet conduit. The element assembly includes first and second filter elements axially aligned and secured together in a stack configuration. The first filter element has a media pack for filtering particulate material. The second filter element has a media pack for filtering noxious gases, such as formaldehyde. In operation, a blower assembly directs airflow through the inlet conduit, into the first element interior, through the first element media pack, through the second element media pack, into the second element interior, and out through the housing outlet conduit. Methods for filtering and changing out of the element assembly are also described herein.

  • Patent number: 6077335
Abstract: A filter is provided which includes an organic vapor adsorbing layer, a first particulate removal layer, and a second particulate removal layer. The organic vapor adsorbing layer includes porous adsorbent beads which allow air or gas to flow therethrough with little resistance and provide increased surface area by virtue of the pores. The particulate removal layer can be made from an electrostatic and/or polytetraflouroethylene. The filter can have a figure of merit greater than about 10 and a capacity for permanently adsorbing organic vapors, wherein the figure of merit is calculated based upon a fractional efficiency determined for particles having a size of 0.3 .mu.m in an air flow having a velocity of 10.5 ft./min and for Frazier permeability at 0.5 inches H.sub.2 O.

  • Patent number: 5501888
Abstract: The present invention provides a divided light inserts which employ metal caming and a kit for mounting the inserts on existing windows. The preferred divided light inserts use substantially lead-free, rigid caming which incorporates a flange and steel core around the perimeter of the insert. The preferred mounting kit provides for ventilation between the insert and the primary glazing panel of a window in which the insert is mounted.

  • Patent number: 4657570
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a device (50) for providing filtration of air. The device includes a body (70) and a cover (72) with each having endless mating structure (76) and (78) which may be welded together thereby mechanically pinching a flat sheet filter media (74) and holding it in place. The cut edge of the filter media (74) is encapsulated. The filter media (74) is held outwardly from bottom (92) of body (70) by gussets (90) to provide sufficient area for air to pass through. Inlet openings (110) are provided between top (94) and endless mating structure (78) in a fashion which allows top (94) to be attached to a flat wall of a sealed housing of a type used for disk drive systems.
