  • Patent number: 7699286
Abstract: A label holder is provided for mounting on a shelf channel. The label holder includes a front panel, a back panel connected to the front panel with a common bottom edge with a cavity there between. The label holder also has a protective flange along a top edge of the back panel and a shelf clip portion separated from the back panel by a common top edge. The shelf clip portion includes an upward retaining flange for engaging the shelf and includes a downward angled engaging portion terminating in a catch flange and a curved resilient hinge portion that is configured to encompass the catch flange and terminate in an upward flange. The shelf clip portion provides resilient clamping onto the shelf. The catch flange is configured to engage a lower shelf channel flange as the curved resilient hinge wraps an arcuate channel of the shelf.

  • Patent number: 7434341
Abstract: A label holder includes at least one panel having a rib. The at least one panel is constructed to have a resilient rearward curvature that flexes to flatten against a shelf. The label holder further includes a retainer structure extending rearwardly from the at least one panel. The retainer structure includes a clip configured to resiliently clamp the label holder to the shelf. When mounted to the shelf, the rib engages the shelf and causes flexure of the resilient rearward curvature of the front panel, forms a lid for a cavity that houses a label, and biases the clip against a back surface of the angled front panel to provide secure attachment of the label holder to the shelf.

  • Patent number: 7114277
Abstract: Provided is a sign holder for mounting to and displaying from a shelf any of various planar signs. The sign holder includes a clamp having two pivotally-connected panels that can be placed into a clamping position to hold the planar sign. To hold the panels in the clamping position, the first panel includes a holding prong that can be received in a corresponding aperture of the second panel. To prevent the planar sign from slipping between the panels, the second panel includes a piercing prong that can pierce the planar sign and be received in a corresponding aperture of the first panel. So that the planar material does not interfere with the engagement between the holding prong and its corresponding aperture, the piercing prong can be spaced-apart from the pivotally-connected edges of the panels a greater distance than the holding prong is. Various mounting structures can be included.

  • Patent number: 7031355
Abstract: In a stabilized laser system, a an output signal is to be generated having a desired central wavelength. At least one laser, which, while emitting light and having a preselected portion thereof fed back thereto, causes the output signal of the laser to be shifted in wavelength in a first direction which is spaced apart from the center wavelength of the fed back signal. A feedback generating arrangement processes a first portion of the output signal from each laser and generates a feedback signal having a spectral response peaking at a wavelength shifted in an opposite direction to the first direction generated by each laser. The feedback signal each laser to provide an output signal at the output of the stabilized laser system having a spectral response that peaks essentially at the desired wavelength.

To engage the display shelf, at least one insertion prong extends from the rear end parallel to the elongated arm while at least one locating prong extends perpendicularly from the elongated arm. To support the elongated arm and to connect with the merchandising strip, the display hanger includes at least one wing extending from the elongated arm. When engaged, the insertion prong and locating prong are received in holes disposed into the display shelf while the wing extends beyond an angled front edge of the shelf. To minimize the unsupported portion of the elongated arm, the wing includes a rearward edge that extends along a forward-inclined angle so as to parallel the angled front edge of the display shelf.

  • Patent number: 6931034
Abstract: An optical system has a transmission filter device, a feedback mechanism, and one or more radiation sources. Each radiation source generates an output signal with a predetermined wavelength band and polarization and is coupled to a separate input port of the transmission filter device. The transmission filter device, which is responsive to output signal from each radiation source, generates an output signal from at least one output port thereof. The feedback mechanism is coupled to at least one output port of the transmission filter device for providing a feedback signal that is directed back through the transmission filter device to each of the radiation sources for stabilizing each of the radiation sources. The apparatus is polarization maintaining wherein the one or more radiation sources, the transmission filter device, and the feedback mechanism are interconnected such that principle axes of polarization thereof are substantially aligned.

  • Patent number: 6341186
Abstract: An optical flattening filter is cascaded with an optical filter between an input and an output of an optical arrangement to provide a substantially widened flat passband at an output of the optical arrangement. The optical filter is responsive to an input signal for generating a periodic or a periodic output response waveform having a cosine squared or Gaussian passband or any rounded passband shape. The optical flattening filter is designed to generate a response waveform having a spectral profile which is complementary to the periodic or aperiodic output response waveform of the optical filter. The interaction of the response waveforms of the optical filter and the optical flattening filter provide a resultant response waveform at the output of the optical arrangement wherein each peak therein is substantially flattened to provide a passband which is wider than the response waveform provided by the optical filter.

  • Patent number: 6148122
Abstract: An optical modulator receives both an optical channel signal and at least one electrical driving voltage signal, and generates an optical output channel signal which is polarization independent. The optical modulator includes at least three electrodes, and first and second lithium niobate optical waveguides interspersed between the electrodes. At least one electrode receives the driving voltage signal to provide a travelling wave therealong. The first optical waveguide receives the optical channel signal, and the second optical waveguide provides the optical output channel signal. A cross splice/delay line interconnects the second end of the first optical waveguide to the first end of the second optical waveguide with polarization maintaining optical fibers, respectively, for introducing a predetermined rotation of TE and TM modes. As a result, polarization components at the second end of the second optical waveguide experience a same amount of phase modulation.

  • Patent number: 5836097
Abstract: A shelf divider, label and sign holder system comprising an elongated universal support element formed with a relatively rigid channel-shaped shell adapted to be adhesively mounted on a vertically or horizontally extending surface. The support element includes an extended cover portion with flexible fingers co-extruded therewith and adapted to engage the mounting surface itself to removably capture therebetween portions of an item to be supported by the support element. When used as a vertical surface sign holder system, the support element is generally horizontally secured to the vertical surface, with the channel opening downwardly and a paper, cardboard or plastic indicia-containing label or sign securely held at its upper edges between the flexible fingers and the vertical mounting surface. The same support element may be adhesively secured to the undersurface of a shelf juxtapositioned to the front edge thereof, for reception of a perpendicular mounting flange of an adhesive or non-adhesive label holder.
