  • Patent number: 4501471
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) capable of automated fabrication facilitated by the use of continuous strips of plastic film on the surface of which corresponding electrode patterns are defined. Liquid crystal material, and spacing means, are sealed between the plastic strips, preferably with the aid of sealing rings formed on one of the film strips; thereby, defining the individual liquid crystal display.

  • Patent number: 4228574
Abstract: An automated liquid crystal display (LCD) film fabrication process. Automation is facilitated by use of strips, preferably continuous, of plastic film on proposed surface of which corresponding electrode patterns are defined. Liquid crystal material and spacing means are introduced between the plastic strips which are sealed, preferably with the aid of sealing rings screen formed on one of the films, to define individual display units. Each unit has a volume of liquid crystal material enclosed between corresponding pairs of electrode patterns on the two strips.
