  • Patent number: 4245375
Abstract: Stringers of a slide fastener are attached to the connecting edges of a sheet for opening and closing thereof and a tightening device is disposed in an intermediate portion of the sheet along the lengthwise direction of the fastener stringers so that the tightening device can tighten and relax the sheet in a direction intersecting said connecting edges at right angles. When the fastener is zipped to open or close the sheet, the tightening device is to be operated beforehand to loosen the sheet. By the provision of this tightening device, the operation of the fastener can be freely functioned as a zipper, and flapping of the sheet can be prevented by the sheet-tightening action of the tightening device.

  • Patent number: 4136626
Abstract: A sewing machine presser foot includes a pin member pivotally supported in a pair of spaced lugs mounted on a sole member. The pin member has a strip between its journal ends, the strip extending through a groove provided through a stem member to be installed on a sewing machine bar. The groove has a cross-section of an ellipse having a pair of opposed walls across which the minor axis extends. The pin member is normally movable axiswise for its positional adjustment relative to the stem member. Upon pivotal movement of the pin member about its axis, edges of the strip come into frictional engagement with the walls of the groove, to thereby arrest axial movement of the pin member relative to the stem member. A slot is provided in the stem member, the slot being coextensive in length and communicating with the groove for the passage therethrough of the strip. One of the journal ends of the pin member has a knob or lever for rotation thereof.

  • Patent number: 4120113
Abstract: A pound or set net has a plurality of trap pockets for entrapping a school of fish, each pocket formed by a ceiling webbing of net, a bottom webbing and a peripheral webbing. A sliding fastener is provided on the ceiling webbing in particular, whereby the pocket may be quickly opened to remove driftwood or other floating foreign materials entrapped therein. There is also provided a fish outlet at the after end of the peripheral webbing which is normally closed by a slide fastener.

  • Patent number: 4118839
Abstract: A retaining device for retaining a terminal end portion of a so-called concealed slide fastener in closed disposition against accidental splitting or disengagement of the intermeshed fastener elements at the end portion. The retaining device has a base; a pair of opposed inwardly directed longitudinal flanges having vertical side walls and horizontal upper walls having their longitudinal edges disposed in spaced, confronting relationship; and a pair of symmetrical projections at one end of the device each extending integrally with the respective horizontal walls beyond the end of each of the side walls. The pair of opposed inwardly directed longitudinal flanges define with the base a channel functionally analogous to that of a slider.

  • Patent number: 4078109
Abstract: A carpet construction comprises a plurality of square sheet materials butt-joined together to jointly provide a continuous planar upper surface. The sheet materials in each two adjacent rows are disposed in such a manner that the abutting lines of one of the two adjacent rows of sheet materials are disposed out of registration with those of the other. A plurality of stringer tapes are fixedly secured respectively to the lower marginal portions of the rows of sheet materials adjacent to their abutting ends and edges. Each opposed stringer tapes are coupled together to retain the sheet materials in butt-jointed condition. A plurality of connective members are secured respectively to rows of interengaged fastener elements of each mating stringer tapes immediately adjacent to the opposite ends thereof to retain the same in coupled condition.

  • Patent number: 4065835
Abstract: A net jointing structure for jointing opposite net ends together comprises a pair of adapter nets each including a net region and a tape-carrying region extending outwardly from the net region. A slide fastener is provided between the adapter nets for coupling and uncoupling the adapter nets. A pair of connecting cords are disposed in engagement with the outer edges of the respective net regions for connecting the adapter ends to the opposite net ends. Each of the adapter nets is formed of a warp-knitted structure which is arranged symmetrically with respect to its central axis along which the warp-knitted structure is folded upon itself in exactly overlapped relationship. Each of the connecting cords is interposed between the folded warp-knitted structure and extends along the outer folded edge thereof.

  • Patent number: 4042735
Abstract: A carpet construction comprises a pair of sheet materials having their opposed ends disposed in abutting engagement with each other. A sliding clasp fastener having a pair of stringer tapes carrying along their longitudinal edges rows of interengageable elements is provided for jointing the sheet materials together, the stringer tapes being attached to the reverse surfaces of the sheet materials immediately adjacent to the abutting ends thereof. A protective member extends along the length of the sliding clasp fastener and covers the coupled rows of fastener elements so as to prevent foreign matters from entering the spaces between the fastener elements. The protective member has means for preventing the coupled rows of fastener elements from displacement in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the sliding clasp fastener.

  • Patent number: 4027361
Abstract: A sliding clasp fastener has a pair of sliders movable on and along a pair of element-supporting tape edges, the sliders having element-separating ends disposed in confronting relationship to each other. A retainer member connects the sliders together and maintains the sliders in spaced-apart relation to defining therebetween a gap or space where fastener elements are uncoupled. The sliding clasp fastener has utility for covering an opening in the top surface of a selector box mounted in an automatic transmission-type automobile with a transmission selector lever extending through the gap between the sliders.

  • Patent number: 4009541
Abstract: An under-roof drainage device for draining moisture condensation on the undersurface of a roof or ceiling. The device comprises a plurality of elongated unit panels each having a longitudinal central portion dividing the unit panel into a pair of panel sections with opposite free edges, the panel sections each being sloped downwardly from the central portion toward the free edge. A male half member extends downwardly from the free edge of the panel section. There are also provided a plurality of gutter means each having the same length as the unit panel and including a female member formed centrally on and extending along the gutter means. The adjacent unit panels provide mated male half members detachably interfitting with the female member on the gutter means. The assembled device is mounted beneath a roof, or used as a ceiling with the gutter means inclined relative to the horizontal for the drainage.
