  • Patent number: 6082839
Abstract: In a drawer control for a file cabinet, a latch member is adapted to rotate via a striker pin attached to the drawer from a release position to an engagement position when the drawer is about to be fully closed. The latch member is urged by a reversing spring which opposes the closing of a drawer until a neutral position adjacent to a fully closed position is reached, and once this neutral position is passed, the reversing spring assists the closing of the drawer to thereby provide a damping action to the drawer movement. Additionally, a moveable member extending across the latch members of the respective drawers can be moved by a cylinder lock so as to engage all the latch members to centrally lock all the drawers, and the moveable member is similarly actuated by opening of one of the drawers so as to interlock the movements of the drawers and permit only one of the drawers to be opened at a time.

  • Patent number: 5372623
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for forming a glass container by a press-and-blow system wherein the glass container is provided with a reinforced inner surface. According to the inventive method, fuel gas or a gaseous boron or silicon compound is burnt or otherwise reacted inside a parison after the parison molded in the blank mold is transferred to the finish mold. The burning or other reaction of the fuel gas or gaseous boron or silicon compounds can be carried out just prior to the final blow-molding step in which the parison is blow molded into its final shape, simultaneous with the final blow-molding step, or just after the final blow-molding step. The apparatus of the present invention includes a finish mold provided with a blow head which includes a low selector valve. The low selector valve is open during combustion or other reaction within the parison and is automatically closed during the final blow-molding step by the pressure of the compressed air used in the final blow-molding.

  • Patent number: 4363649
Abstract: An impact rod is vertically guided within a guide cylinder to drop into a glass bottle to be tested which is held vertically below by a bottle gripper, the impact rod thereby striking the bottom of the bottle with preset impact force. A plurality of these guide cylinders with respective impact rods and corresponding bottle grippers are supported on structures revolving unitarily around a pole, the bottle grippers operating to grip successively bottles supplied from a production line and to carry the bottles around a partial circle as they are tested by the corresponding impact rods which are operated by adjustable cam action. The impact force is adjustably variable by adjusting the height of drop and/or weight of the impact rod.
