  • Patent number: 5202721
Abstract: A shutter device of a camera which includes first and second sector mechanisms which constitute a lens shutter and which are independently opened and closed to define an aperture. A photometer, for detecting the luminance of an object to be photographed, and a diaphragm controller for controlling the aperture defined by the second sector mechanism, in accordance with luminance data detected by the photometer, are provided. A shutter opening element is provided which normally closes the first sector mechanism and opens the first sector mechanism when the second sector mechanism is held to define a predetermined aperture determined by the diaphragm controller, and a shutter closing element is provided which closes the second sector mechanisms at a predetermined timing in accordance with the luminance data of the photometer after the first sector mechanism is opened by the shutter opening element.

  • Patent number: 5036345
Abstract: In a camera having a strobe arm on which a strobe light flashing element is provided, the strobe arm is movable between an operating position and a non-operating position. The strobe arm has a substantially arc-shaped surface and is positioned along a circumferential surface of a taking lens when it is located at the non-operating position. Thus, the camera is not enlarged.

  • Patent number: 5028949
Abstract: In a single-lens reflex camera, a light flashing block, on which a plurality of elements required for a triangulation distance measurement and a strobe light element for radiating light are provided. The block is rotatable between an operation position at which the photographing operation is executed and a non-operating position at which the light flashing block is downwardly directed. In the operating position, the light flashing block faces an object to be photographed, and can be sufficiently spaced apart from an optical axis of the taking lens to prevent so-called red-eye phenomenon. Further, since the elements required for the distance measurement also can be spaced apart from the taking lens, light from the object is not blocked by the taking lens. Further, since the light flashing block is faced downwardly when the photographing operation is not executed, the camera main body can be made small in size.

  • Patent number: 4651233
Abstract: An electronic still single-lens reflex camera having an improved tracking device employing a simplified construction and having a lowered manufacturing cost. A head feed mechanism is operated in association with the operation of a drive unit which drives the image mirror of the camera in such a manner that the magnetic recording head is moved radially of the magnetic medium in association with the operation of the image mirror. The head mechanism includes a stage on which the recording head is mounted, a feed gear, a feed pawl, a tracking bar supporting the feed pawl and movable with the retraction of the image mirror from the image beam path, and a motion converting mechanism for converting the rotation of the feed gear into linear motion of the stage, the feed gear being turned through a predetermined angle by the feed pawl.

  • Patent number: 4589023
Abstract: An electronic camera having both bright viewfinder image and a minimal effect of dark current on the image output signal. A quick-return mirror, normally positioned in the path of the flux of light from the object image, guides the flux of light into the optical viewfinder system. The quick-return mirror is retractable to allow the flux of light to fall onto an image pickup device. A vertical synchronizing signal generator issues a signal for discharging electric charges stored in the image pickup device after the release switch has been turned on and before the quick-return mirror begins its movement out of the light flux path and issues a signal for reading out electric charges which have been stored in the image pickup device while the shutter is open after an exposure operation has been completed. The frequency of scanning for discharging the electric charges is higher than the frequency for scanning for reading out the electric charges subsequent to the photographing operation.

  • Patent number: 4575213
Abstract: A device for displaying data in the viewfinder of a camera including a data film on which photographic data such as shutter speed is provided, and LED package including LEDs for illuminating the data on the data film and terminals of the LEDs, and a field frame. The LED package and the field frame are formed as a single unit by molding them with resin. As a result, it is not necessary to assemble separate components with a high precision, thereby significantly simplifying the assembly operation of the device.
