  • Patent number: 4384837
Abstract: This invention pertains to a field of the art for producing crude oil from rice bran, and it relates to a pretreatment method for extracting crude oil from rice bran and an apparatus used therefor. The object of this invention is to obtain an extremely high-quality and light-colored crude oil from rice bran while eliminating any risk of environmental pollution in the pretreatment process for the extraction. In order to accomplish this object, as the pretreatment for extracting crude oil from rice bran, said rice bran is compressed in a screw extruder to break the cells in said rice bran and mold it into a form suited for the extraction of crude oil.

  • Patent number: 4365394
Abstract: Method for producing an interlaced multifilament yarn comprising previously rubbing and scratching a material multifilament yarn with an intensity such that the individual filaments constituting the multifilament yarn are not substantially broken by a rotary rough surface member having sharp projections which are smaller than the cross-sectional diameter of the individual filaments of the multifilament yarn; then diffusing at least one jetted fluid, each jetted in the yarn running direction along a predetermined yarn passage from a jetting aperture of a supply conduit; and then impinging the diffused jetted fluid against the running material multifilament yarn so that the individual filaments of the multifilament yarn mostly vibrate in a direction which is substantially parallel to a plane defined by the yarn running direction and the fluid jetting direction.

  • Patent number: 4355445
Abstract: An apparatus for producing interlaced multifilament yarn having an improved configuration is disclosed. When a material yarn is treated by an interlacing apparatus provided with an interlacing nozzle wherein a hollow longitudinal space is formed therein and a jetted fluid is introduced into the hollow longitudinal space, the jet fluid is directed to an axis of the passage of a running yarn in the longitudinal space along a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis of the yarn passage in such a condition that the jet fluid is diffused to a direction along the yarn passage. Accordingly, the individual filaments of the running yarn are vibrated about the axis of the running yarn passage, mainly along a plane defined by the axis of the yarn passage and the axis of a fluid conduit for supplying the jet fluid. According to such effective vibration of the individual filaments, a very stable interlaced configuration of the individual filaments can be created.

  • Patent number: 4292799
Abstract: Spun yarn-like textured polyester yarns comprised of two types of polyester multifilament component yarns and having broken filaments, in which textured yarns there is a difference in length between the component yarns, whereby high bulkiness is imparted thereto. The individual filaments of one of the component yarns have a fineness less than those of the other component yarn. The spun yarn-like textured yarns have satisfactory pilling resistance and frosting resistance. The spun yarn-like high bulky textured yarns can be produced by a process comprising doubling two types of undrawn polyester multifilament yarns having different properties through an intertwisting regulative device and simultaneously draw-texturing the doubled undrawn yarns.

  • Patent number: 4167847
Abstract: Disclosed is a bulky yarn made from a thermoplastic multifilament yarn. Each of the individual filaments forming the yarn has a randomly varying thermal shrinkage along its length. The filaments in the cross-section of the yarn also have randomly varying thermal shrinkages. The bulky yarn forms a plurality of loops having a stable and compact configuration, while the number of filament slack portions which project outwardly from the yarn surface is significantly decreased.A method for producing a bulky yarn possessing the above-mentioned construction is also disclosed. In the method, individual filaments forming the multifilament yarn are interlaced with each other, before or after which the yarn is subjected to a so-called random heat treatment. The interlaced and randomly heat-treated yarn is supplied at an over-feed condition to a fluid turbulent flow region which causes the individual filaments to form a plurality of loops and entanglements, and then the yarn is wound onto a package.

  • Patent number: 4148065
Abstract: A pair of chromium masks of similar pattern are optically read out to generate video signals corresponding to the patterns thereon. Comparison of the pair of masks is carried out in binary signals converted from the video signals using different recognition thresholds, thereby discriminating defects in the masks. Defect information is recorded in a recording medium and used for identifying and positioning the defects in the correction process.

  • Patent number: 4134252
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for imparting false twists to two yarns simultaneously. The significance of the invention resides in that an industrially utilizable method for false twisting yarns by frictional contact of two yarns with 4 rotating frictional discs has been provided. The apparatus of the present invention for practising the false twisting method is characterized in that the angle of contact of yarns with the frictional discs is maintained within a specific range and the frictional discs are attached to four shafts in specific order at specific heights. Various processes for preparing a variety of false twist yarns by utilizing the false twisting method and apparatus of the present invention have been established.
