  • Publication number: 20050117358
Abstract: In a vehicle lighting apparatus in which the irradiation direction of lamps provided at the left and right portions of an automobile can be deflected to the left and right directions in association with the steering operation of a steering apparatus, the deflection angles of the left and right lamps are changed in different manners in accordance with a vehicle speed, for example. For example, at the time of steering to the right, when a vehicle speed is a predetermined value or less, only the right lamp is subjected to the deflecting operation, while when a vehicle speed exceeds the predetermined value, both the right and left lamps are simultaneously subjected to the deflecting operation. The deflection angles of the left and right lamps are differentiated in accordance with the speed change of an automobile.

  • Publication number: 20050018438
Abstract: The deflection angles of the irradiation of lamps provided at the left and right portions of an automobile are continuously increased in correspondence to the increase of a steering angle until the steering angle reaches a predetermined value. The left and right lamps are held at particular deflection angles respectively when the steering angle is equal to or more than a predetermined steering angle. The value of the particular deflection angle of the lamp on the steering direction side is made larger than that of the lamp on the opposite side. When the deflection angle is small, the left and right lamps are deflected in almost the same state to irradiate the straight traveling direction or the traveling direction of an automobile. When the deflection angle becomes large, the lamp on the steering direction side irradiates the traveling direction and the lamp on the opposite direction irradiates an area in the straight traveling direction.

  • Publication number: 20050018437
Abstract: A vehicle lighting apparatus can help improve irradiation for different speeds of an automobile. The vehicle lighting apparatus includes lamps for installation at front portions of an automobile. An irradiation direction of the lamps can be deflected in left and right directions based on a steering operation of a steering apparatus, and a rate of change of a deflection angle of the lamps with respect to the steering angle is made smaller as the vehicle speed increases to a high speed.

  • Publication number: 20040213012
Abstract: A first shade 32 is properly moved to vertically shift the position of a cutoff line, and furthermore, a lighting unit 20 is properly tilted in a vertical direction to displace a whole light distribution pattern in the vertical direction. Consequently, a light irradiation is carried out with a light distribution pattern at an irradiation angle corresponding to a vehicle traveling situation. In that case, a second shade 34 is properly moved to form a dark portion in a central part on the lower end of the light distribution pattern in a predetermined size if necessary. Consequently, the amount of a light irradiation on a short-distance region can be controlled finely, and a road surface on this side can be prevented from becoming too bright in a high-speed travel and a light reflected by the road surface which causes a glare can be prevented from being generated in a rain travel.

  • Patent number: 6805472
Abstract: The lighting directions of a plurality of lamps RL and LL are controlled independently or integrally corresponding to a running condition. When a vehicle changes a running direction, the direction of the optical axis of one of the lamps is deflected earlier in the running direction and the direction of the optical axis of the other lamp is maintained in a straight running direction in a running condition in which other cars or obstacles might be present in the straight running direction of the vehicle, and the direction of the optical axis of the other lamp is deflected with a delay upon receipt of a further steering operation. It is possible to carry out an illumination in the running direction and the straight running direction of the vehicle. In particular, the invention is very effective for maintaining the safety running of the vehicle on an intersection road or at time of a lane change.

  • Publication number: 20040178739
Abstract: Lamp units for radiating a beam ahead of a vehicle in a light distribution pattern are housed in a lamp body. Illumination of the auxiliary lamp units is controlled based on driving conditions. Illumination control means extinguish light through dimming by gradually decreasing voltage applied to the light sources. When the applied voltage has dropped to a threshold value, the applied voltage is controlled to zero immediately. Compared to when the lamps remaining in an illuminated state are suddenly extinguished, a change in, quantity of light is mild, and no uncertainty arises. Below a threshold value where the applied voltage gradually drops to the threshold value and a change may arise in the filament crystalline structure due to annealing at a transition temperature, the applied voltage approaches zero. Hence, the filament does not pass from the transition temperature while being rapidly cooled, thus avoiding filament crystalline structure change.

  • Patent number: 6697314
Abstract: There is disclosed an information reproducing apparatus and an information recording apparatus in which information transfer is possible by an information amount unit different from a sector unit, so that a burden on a host apparatus is lightened, waste of transfer time is avoided, and information protection level is raised. In a magnetooptic disk drive 10 which serves as both the information reproducing apparatus and the information recording apparatus, non-sector unit information is designated as reproducing information, information for the integer number of sectors including the non-sector unit information is reproduced from a magnetooptic disk 20, and only the non-sector unit information is outputted to a host computer 30.

  • Patent number: 6652130
Abstract: A vehicle headlamp includes a lamp body having a hollow portion opening forward, a support member supported tiltably in the lamp body, and a plurality of reflectors supported side by side in one of the vertical and lateral directions by the support member. Each reflector is made to support a corresponding light source and least one of the reflectors is pivotably supported by the support member in the horizontal direction. In one embodiment, a lower reflector is pivotable in the horizontal direction and a low beam is formed by an upper reflector and the light source supported by the upper reflector. In this embodiment, the upper reflector does not have any portion that does not affect luminous distribution.

  • Publication number: 20030145211
Abstract: In an internal circuit type, an encryption circuit is included in a device. Information specific to the device including the encryption circuit is preregistered to a net authentication site. A portable storage medium is inserted into an information recording/reproduction mechanism of the device, and an access is made to the net authentication site with a host PC. When a right to access to the net authentication site is obtained, the net authentication site reads shared information stored on the portable storage medium, and makes a comparison between the shared information and the contents of a database. If a match is found as a result of the comparison, the net authentication site writes devices-specific information to the shared information on the portable storage medium, so that encrypted data on the portable storage medium can be read with the device.

  • Publication number: 20030067763
Abstract: A vehicle light apparatus which serves to change a lighting range of a lamp L for illuminating a forward part of the vehicle corresponding to a steering angle of the vehicle comprises lighting range control means for turning the lighting range into an opposite direction to a current steering direction when steering is returned into a straight running direction. When a steering angular velocity is greater than a predetermined value, a lighting range for illuminating an opposite side is increased following the return of the steering into the straight running direction. A next curve or the course of an intersection road can be illuminated prior to the steering operation in a running condition on an S-shaped road or an intersection road in which right and left turns continue. Thus, the vehicle light apparatus is very effective for maintaining the safe running of the vehicle on a curved road and an intersection road.

  • Publication number: 20030067762
Abstract: A vehicle light apparatus comprises a controller 10 for changing a lighting range of a lamp L for illuminating a forward part of a vehicle corresponding to a steering angle of the vehicle and for controlling the lighting range of lighting means corresponding to a steering angular velocity of the vehicle. Alternatively, there is provided lighting range control means for changing a lighting range of lighting means for illuminating a forward part of the vehicle corresponding to a steering angle of the vehicle and for controlling the lighting range of the lighting means based on an operation of a turn signal lamp of the vehicle. It is possible to decide a running condition of the vehicle from the steering angular velocity or the operation state of the turning signal lamp and a vehicle speed, thereby rapidly controlling a change in the lighting direction or the lighting area of the lamp L in a running direction.
