  • Patent number: 9944220
Abstract: A vehicle headlight control device that controls a light distribution of headlight, includes: an obtaining section that obtains a distance from a driver's vehicle to a forward vehicle and the position of a forward vehicle; and a light distribution control section that changes the light distribution of the headlight based on the position of the forward vehicle, and set an illumination region, and a non-illumination region provided in a vicinity of the forward vehicle so as to include the forward vehicle and a margin distance from an end of a body of the forward vehicle. The light distribution control section determines a distance, in a vehicle width direction, between: a boundary between the illumination region and the non-illumination region; and each of left and right lateral ends of the forward vehicle, such that the greater the distance is, the less the distance in the vehicle width direction is.

  • Patent number: 9713979
Abstract: A vehicular headlamp apparatus includes: a headlamp that illuminates ahead of a vehicle; light distribution pattern switching means for switching light distribution pattern of the headlamp between a plurality of light distribution patterns which include, at least, a high beam and a low beam; detecting means for detecting a forward vehicle present in front of the vehicle; controlling means for controlling the light distribution pattern switching means based on a detection result of the detecting means; and turning radius acquiring means for acquiring a turning radius of the own vehicle during running. Moreover, when the turning radius of the own vehicle acquired by the turning radius acquiring means is less than a predetermined value, the controlling means inhibits the switching of the light distribution pattern of the headlamp to a higher side.

  • Publication number: 20170057402
Abstract: A vehicle lamp system includes a lamp unit and a lamp control unit. The lamp unit includes a plurality of LEDs and forms a high-beam light-distribution pattern. The lamp control unit controls the on/off of each of the plurality of LEDs. The lamp control unit controls each LED in the following manner. Specifically, the luminance is gradually lowered in a first period when the luminance is lowered to a level at which the LED remains on at reduced luminance. The luminance is gradually lowered in a second period, which is shorter than the first period, when the luminance is lowered to a level at which the LED is off.

  • Publication number: 20170028903
Abstract: A vehicle lamp system includes a high-beam lamp unit that can form a high-beam light-distribution pattern, a leveling mechanism that vertically adjusts an optical axis of the high-beam lamp unit, and a control unit that controls on/off of the high-beam lamp unit and controls the leveling mechanism. Upon the engine being started, the control unit controls the high-beam lamp unit to turn on for a predetermined period of time in a state in which the leveling unit adjusts the optical axis of the lamp unit to aim more vertically downward than in normal operation.

  • Patent number: 9453629
Abstract: At least a part of light emitted from a light source passes through a projection lens. A rotary shade is disposed at the rear side of the projection lens to block a part of the light emitted from the light source. The rotary shade includes a twist end surface. A swivel actuator changes an optical axis direction of the projection lens. A shade driving mechanism rotates the rotary shade around the rotary axis. A first information acquisition unit acquires first information on a rudder angle of the vehicle. A second information acquisition unit acquires second information on the front area of the vehicle. A first control unit controls the swivel actuator to determine the optical axis direction based on the first information. A second control unit controls the shade driving mechanism to determine the position of the twist end surface based on the second information.

  • Patent number: 9441806
Abstract: A rotary shade is disposed behind a projection lens to block a portion of light emitted from a light source. The rotary shade has a twisted end surface to form an edge projected as a peripheral edge of a light distribution pattern which changes position in relation to the rotation of the shade. The twisted end surface is arranged so that the closer the twisted end surface is to the projection lens the more the twisted end surface approaches the optical axis. The twisted end surface moves from the front to the back of a rear focal point in relation to the rotation of the rotary shade in the direction in which the illumination area of the light distribution pattern increases.
