  • Publication number: 20090234500
Abstract: A storage media library device includes a media drive unit which writes and reads information on storage media, a media storage unit which stores the storage media, a robot which transports the storage media between the media drive unit and the media storage unit, a robot control unit which controls the storage media transport operation of the robot, and a vibration detection unit which detects occurrence of vibrations. The robot control unit is controlled by a library control unit, wherein if occurrence of vibrations is detected by the vibration detection unit during the robot transports the storage media, the robot control unit causes the robot to stop the storage media transport operation, and when subsidence of the vibrations is detected within a predefined time period preset in a storage media transport command and monitored by the library control unit, the robot control unit causes the robot to resume.

  • Publication number: 20090003148
Abstract: An information recording system for recording information on an optical disc using a reference clock signal generated based on a push-pull signal including a wobble frequency component, the system includes an amplitude obtaining unit for obtaining an amplitude value of the push-pull signal, a threshold calculation unit for calculating a displacement threshold of the push-pull signal based on the amplitude value obtained by the amplitude obtaining unit, and a noise reduction unit for generating a corrected push-pull signal by correcting the push-pull signal such that a displacement exceeding the displacement threshold is reduced. The reference clock signal is generated based on the corrected push-pull signal generated by the noise reduction unit.

  • Publication number: 20060176796
Abstract: There is provided an optical disc recording apparatus containing a small-area circuit that is adaptable to both of the formats of DVD-R/RW and +RW/+R standards. The apparatus is provided with a circuit (106) for converting a 32T-cycle binarized wobble signal based on the +RW/+R standard into a 186T-cycle binarized wobble signal based on the DVD-R/RW standard, and the converted 186T-cycle binarized wobble signal is selected with a selector (108) during +RW/+R recording while the 186T-cycle binarized wobble signal is selected during DVD-R/RW recording, whereby subsequent PLL circuits are shared to reduce the circuit scale.

  • Patent number: 6178282
Abstract: An attaching arrangement for attaching, to a communications apparatus container box, an optical cable case which includes a case body for accommodating an optical cable and a case end portion attached to the case body. The attaching arrangement includes: a first rotary hinge having a first rotary hinge axis for rotatably attaching the case end portion to the container box around the first rotary hinge axis; and a second rotary hinge having a second rotary hinge axis perpendicular to the first rotary hinge axis for rotatably attaching the case end portion to the container box around the second rotary hinge axis. In a preferred implementation, the attaching arrangement further includes: a slide rail slidably attached to an inner surface of the container box along a direction parallel to the second rotary hinge axis so that the slide rail is slidable from an inside of the container box to an outside of the container box and from the outside of the container box to the inside of the container box.

  • Patent number: 6005734
Abstract: A library unit including a plurality of frames and a plurality of cell shelves, each of the cell shelves having a plurality of cells arranged in an X-Y plane. The plurality of cell shelves are located in at least one of the plurality of frames, at least one accessor having a picker portion, and a plurality of first reference flags, each of which having substantially the same X-axis coordinate are provided with each of the frames with a spacing in the Y-axis direction. According to the library unit, the plurality of first reference flags are detected by a sensor attached to the picker portion, and a relative inclination angle of the accessor with respect to the Y axis in the X-Y plane is calculated from a difference in position in the X-axis direction of plurality of reference flags in order to obtain a correction value in the X-axis direction for each cell.

  • Patent number: 5378247
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a separator for forming a current collector and edge plate by placing a die and an outer frame for surrounding the die on a press head, placing a thin material plate and a soft plate, and pressing the thin material plate through the soft plate. When the current collector and the edge plate are made press working, cut working and joint working such as welding, can be omitted. Accordingly, the residual stress which is intrinsic to such workings is prevented. Thus, no stress is released by the temperature rise involved in the fuel cell operation and the members of the fuel cell do not become distorted. Additionally, the method provides high productivity.
