  • Publication number: 20190072029
Abstract: Provided is a compressor arrangement in an air line supplying charged air to a combustion engine. The compressor arrangement comprises a compressor unit comprising a housing including an air intake passage, a compressor wheel arranged in said air intake passage, and an additional air passage allowing recirculation of air from the air intake passage in a position radially outwardly of a part of the compressor wheel. The additional air passage is configured to allow recirculation of air to an air conduit delivering an air flow to the air intake passage of the compressor unit.

  • Patent number: 9481353
Abstract: A method to reduce fuel consumption when driving a vehicle, wherein the vehicle comprises an internal combustion engine, and a gearbox that is settable to a plurality of transmission ratios, and the vehicle is configured to be driven in at least a first mode (M1) and a second mode (M2), wherein, when the vehicle is driven according to the second mode (M2), a reduced fuel consumption is prioritized to a larger extent at the cost of performance compared with when the vehicle is driven according to the first mode (M1).

  • Patent number: 9376978
Abstract: A method operable when driving a vehicle, wherein the vehicle has an internal combustion engine with at least one combustion chamber as well as an air supply to said combustion chamber that can be controlled, wherein, when driving said vehicle, an air/fuel ratio in said combustion chamber is controlled such that said air/fuel ratio does not fall below a first limit value (?b), and wherein said air/fuel ratio is also controlled such that a first margin (??m0) with respect to said first limit value (?b) is maintained. The method includes determining a first measure (M) of a requirement for a margin with respect to said first limit value (?b), and if said first measure (M) of said requirement represents a reduced requirement for a margin with respect to said first limit value, reducing said first margin (??m0) with respect to said first limit value (?b) to a second margin being smaller than said first margin.

  • Patent number: 9222396
Abstract: A method and a system for estimation of a soot load in a particle filter in an exhaust cleaning system, which estimation involves using a pressure drop across said particle filter in order to determine the soot load. Measurement of the pressure drop across the particle filter and therefore the estimation have to take place at a time when an exhaust mass flow of the exhaust cleaning system exceeds a flow threshold value, the particle filter is substantially free from water and a temperature of the particle filter exceeds a first threshold value. The result is a robust estimate of the soot load in the particle filter.

  • Patent number: 9091191
Abstract: A method for regeneration of a particle filter (202) pertaining to a combustion process, which filter treats exhaust gases arising from combustion in a combustion engine (101): During regeneration, controlling the engine (101) according to a first mode and a second mode, in the first mode, the engine (101) is controlled such that a high exhaust temperature is generated, determining a temperature of the particle filter (202), and controlling the engine (101) according to the first mode when the temperature determined is below a first value until the temperature reaches a higher second value, and then controlling the engine in the second mode. The invention relates also to a system and a vehicle (100).

  • Patent number: 9068494
Abstract: A method pertaining to regeneration of a particle filter (202) pertaining to a combustion process, which filter is arranged to treat exhaust gases arising from combustion in a combustion engine (101). When at least one measure for raising the temperature of the particle filter (202) is activated, determining a temperature for the particle filter (202), comparing the temperature determined with a first temperature and discontinuing the measure for raising the temperature of the particle filter (202) when the temperature determined is below the first temperature.

  • Patent number: 7991537
Abstract: A method for adjusting a lookup table that includes preset on-time values for an injector of an engine linked to fuel injection quantity values (?). The following steps are executed in a situation when the output shaft of the engine is disconnected from the output shaft of the gearbox. A torque loss value (Tloss) and a combustion efficiency value (?F) are determined or received. An actual fuel injection quantity value (?actual) is calculated, based on the torque loss value and the combustion efficiency value. An on-time value (tg) linked to the actual fuel injection quantity value is determined from the lookup table and the on-time value is compared with a presently applied on-time value (tb) that is established by an engine control with the aid of a regulator and the lookup table. The lookup table is adjusted based on the result of the comparison.
