  • Patent number: 9670990
Abstract: A drive train for a motor vehicle, having a drive unit which comprises a prime mover, a multi-step transmission and a power-splitting device which distributes the driving power between a first and a second drive shaft of a driven axle. The transmission comprises a transmission input and a first sub-transmission and a second sub-transmission. The prime mover is directly connected to the transmission input, wherein each of the two drive shafts is assigned a first and a second friction clutch. The first friction clutches connect the respective drive shaft to the first sub-transmission. The second friction clutches connect the respective drive shaft to the second sub-transmission. The first friction clutches and the second friction clutches form the power-splitting device.

  • Patent number: 8167071
Abstract: An engine hood for a motor vehicle has an outer planking and an inner part. Between the outer planking and the inner part, a supporting part is arranged, which reinforces the outer planking. In order to reduce the manufacturing costs for an engine hood while maintaining a favorable delay pattern in the event of a head impact, the supporting part has supporting elements which, in the event of an essentially vertical admission of force, permit a displacement of the outer planking relative to the inner part until the supporting part rests with its predominant surface against the inner part.

  • Patent number: 4970243
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the production of elastic, open-cell flexible slabstock polyurethane foams comprising reacting at an isocyanate index less than about 80 one or more polyisocyanates selected from the group tolylene diisocyanates, hexamethylene diisocyanate, and isophorone diisocyanate, with compounds containing at least two isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms and having a molecular weight of about 400 to about 10,000, in the presence of water as blowing agent in a quantity of about 5 to about 15 parts by weight for every 100 parts by weight of the isocyanate-reactive compound. The process may optionally include chain-extending and crosslinking agents containing at least two isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms and having a molecular weight of about 32 to about 399, and may optionally be carried out in the presence of other blowing agents, catalysts, auxiliaries, and additives.

  • Patent number: 4945117
Abstract: This invention relates to liquid urethane-modified polyisocyanate compositions obtained by reaction of polyisocyanates or polyisocyanate mixtures of the diphenylmethane series containing from about 50 to about 100% by weight diisocyanatodiphenylmethane isomers with substoichiometric quantities of polyether polyol compositions having an average hydroxyl equivalent weight of about 500 to 3000 and an average hydroxyl functionality greater than about 4, optionally followed by mixing the initially formed reaction product with urethane-free polyisocyanates or polyisocyanate mixtures of the diphenylmethane series containing from about 40 to about 100% by weight diisocyanatodiphenylmethane isomers. This invention also relates to a process for the preparation of such polyisocyanate compositions. The invention further relates to the use of such compositions as the polyisocyanate component in the production of flexible polyurethane foams.

  • Patent number: 4833176
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process for the preparation of cold setting, flexible, polyurethane, molded foams in a closed mold by reacting a polyisocyanate with a high molecular weight polyol in the presence of about 5 to 15, preferably about 6 to 12 parts by weight of water, based on the weight of the high molecular weight polyol at an isocyanate index below 70.
