  • Patent number: 6727601
Abstract: The invention concerns a motor vehicle headlight with an ignition device (3) for generating an ignition voltage for operating a light (4). The headlight has a safety device 1 for protection from injuries caused by electricity, wherein the ignition device (3) comprises a housing (5) for receiving the light (4) and an ignition switch which can be connected to the light (4) and terminals (6, 7) for electric connection of the ignition switch and the vehicle electrical system. The housing (5) can be mounted to a base plate (2). To improve safety of maintenance or mounting of the headlight, in particular to prevent injuries through contact with exposed electrically conducting parts where high voltages could be present, the use of a safety device 1 is proposed which is disposed on the base plate 2 and comprises means for mounting the housing 5, wherein the ignition device 3 can be connected to the vehicle electrical system via the safety device 1 only when the housing 5 is mounted.

  • Patent number: 5353203
Abstract: The headlight has a one-piece reflector which includes an upper reflector portion with a light source for making a low beam, a lower reflector portion with another light source for making a fog light beam and a laterally positioned reflector portion for making a high beam. The lower reflector portion has a surface area which is comparatively small relative to the upper reflector portion. The light emitted from the other light source is reflected by the lower reflector portion in rays nearly parallel in a vertical longitudinal plane or inclined gently downward in the propagation direction. In the horizontal longitudinal plane light rays reflected from positions on the peak region of the lower reflector portion converge more as the distance of the position from the optic axis increases, light rays reflected from positions on the central region converge less as the distance of the position from the optic axis increases and light rays reflected from the edge region are nearly parallel.

  • Patent number: 5077641
Abstract: A headlight for a power vehicle has a housing connectable with a vehicle body, a holding frame accommodated in the housing adjustably relative to the latter and a reflector which is turnably connectable with the holding frame and turnable outwardly from a position in which it is arrested with the holding frame. The reflector has a rear side and is provided with light sources insertable into the rear side of the reflector. The housing has a rear upper side and is provided at the rear upper side with an opening. The reflector is turnable about a horizontal axis extending in its upper region so that the rear side of the reflector with the light sources is turnable toward the opening from the holding frame.

  • Patent number: 4635173
Abstract: In a headlight of a motor vehicle, having a housing and a diffusing lens enclosing with the housing an interior of the headlight, the interior is vented by means of a conduit exposed to air streams caused by travelling of the motor vehicle. The conduit is formed as an integrated part of the diffusing lens made of plastics.
