  • Patent number: 9728940
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for surface treating a substrate (28) by means of an electrical corona discharge, wherein aerosols (5) are sprayed into discharge area defined by an active gap formed between a corona electrode and the substrate (28) during the discharging, designed such that the aerosols (5) are sprayed substantially opposite the direction of gravity.

  • Patent number: 5439548
Abstract: Apparatus for and method of restoring a damaged area of a coating on a drum body includes a treatment station with a coating-removal unit which initially mechanically frees the damaged area from remaining coating. After cleaning the freed damaged area, a patch is inserted and united with neighboring coating material through hot vulcanization or hot pressing for bonding to the drum body, with the patch having a material composition corresponding to the coating material. Finally after curing, the thus-restored area is surface finished to match the restored coating to the dimension and surface finish of the remaining coating of the drum body.

  • Patent number: 4946568
Abstract: A corona treatment of web-shaped materials or shaped bodies is performed by at least one corona electrode which has an operating region, wherein a gas and/or waste heat produced during the corona treatment is aspirated and at least partially returned to the operating region of the corona electrode.

  • Patent number: 4841409
Abstract: A corona discharge electrode has a core made of a malleable, at least partially electrically conductive graphite material. The core is coated by a relatively thin layer of a dielectric material of an oxide free ceramic such as silicon nitrite, boron nitrite or aluminum nitrite. The density of the dielectric layer is at least 95% of the theoretically attainable density.

  • Patent number: 4467200
Abstract: An electric discharge corona discharge device is disclosed which is useful for rendering of the surface of plastic molded parts capable of being adhesively bound to another part. The device includes flexible, limp counter electrodes which can be adjusted so as to maintain a substantially uniform discharge over the plastic part surface. The discharge is obtained with alternating current and the base underneath the plastic part constitutes the base electrode.

  • Patent number: 4002907
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for advancing a sheet-material web in a path, and a device for producing corona discharges includes at least one electrode roller and at least one cooperating counter roller between which the web is compelled to pass. An edge position control controls the position of the edges of the web and includes portions of the electrode roller which serve as guides for the edges of the web.
