  • Patent number: 6851437
Abstract: The invention relates to a cane handle comprising a hand strap attached to the top end of the handle. Said strap forms a loop which has an adjustable length and can be fixed by means of a clamping device placed in the top end of the handle. Said clamping device comprises a clamping element which is placed in the top end of the handle and encircled by the loop. In order to adjust the hand strip more easily and to reduce the number of components required, the clamping element with the encircling section of the loop is set between an upper and a lower bearing surface, is placed in such a way that it pivots around an approximately horizontal axis, and has a clamping area which is eccentric in relation to the swivelling axis.

  • Publication number: 20050023816
Abstract: A stick (10), such as a trekking stick, ski pole or walking stick, is provided with a shock absorber (11) between a first and a second tubular section (13, 14) of a stick shaft (12) that is equipped with a handle and a stick tip. According to the invention, the shock absorber (11) comprises a guide sleeve (16), which is held in a rotationally fixed manner in a tubular section (13, 14) and in which a damping rod (26) that is held in an axially fixed manner on the other tubular section (14, 13) is guided and a compression spring device (30), operating between the guide sleeve (16) and the damping rod (26). The aim of the invention is to obtain softer shock absorbing characteristics and resilience characteristics that are less abrupt with minimal kickback. This is achieved by the provision of an elastomer spring (29) in the compression spring device (30), said spring being located in series with a helical compression spring (28).

  • Patent number: 6644328
Abstract: A stick such as a ski-stick, walking stick or same, provided with a handle comprising a gripping element and a length-adjustable pole in addition to a regulating device that contains a joint and is arranged outside the pole, whereby the gripping element can be positioned at an angle to the pole and a tubular part of the pole can be pushed through the joint into the gripping element of the pole when the regulating device is oriented in a rectilinear position. This ensures that the regulating device is substantially protected against the effects of the environment and the diameter of the pole is increased to a lesser degree. In order to achieve this, a regulating element is respectively formed by the handle on a lower extension piece of the gripping element and a cap that is firmly connected to the upper end of the pole, whereby one respective regulating element is pivotally and moveably accommodated in a recess of the other regulating element.

  • Patent number: 6502862
Abstract: A loop for poles, such as ski poles and walking sticks, which can be fastened to a pole grip, is provided with a loop element, which encloses the wrist and whose circumference can be adjusted, with a connecting element to the pole grip for the loop element, and with a drawing element, whose one end can be fixed in place on the pole grip and the other end can be releasably fastened on the loop element. The drawing element can be releasably fastened on the exterior of the loop element, so that the drawing element can be connected with or released from the loop element in a simple manner, wherein the circumferential setting of the loop element is maintained.

  • Patent number: 6325418
Abstract: A pole grip for releasably locking a wrist strap to the pole grip, the pole grip being, in particular, for cross-counting ski poles includes is a first connecting element that is fixed to the wrist wrap, a second connecting element cooperating with the first connecting element provided in a pole grip recess and is movable counter to a resilent bearing by means of an actuating member that is accessible in the region of grip head of pole grip. The pole grip includes a body which defines the recess, an inlet and an outlet to the recess, with the inlet being dosposed in an approximately rectilinear alignment with the outlet in whose region the actuating member is actuable. The first connecting element being introduced and retracted relative to said inlet.

  • Patent number: 6264242
Abstract: A handle for ski sticks and the like provided with a wrist strap. The wrist strap is attached to the stick handle by a first connecting element fixed at the wrist strap and a second connecting element lodged at the ski's stick handle, which are interlocked. To insure that the connection between the stick handle and the wrist strap is disengaged automatically only in case of danger and no inopportune releasing occurs, a flexible releasing device is installed, which holds one of the connecting elements at the interlocked position and yields only when the wrist strap is pulled in the same direction, a direction with a force component running longitudinally in the stick from its tip toward the handle, so that the second connecting element held together by the releasing device can be disengaged from its interlocked position.

  • Patent number: 6250839
Abstract: The present invention relates to a length-adjustable tube for ski poles or walking sticks, comprising on outer tube and a telescopically foldable inner tube which be inserted into the outer tube to adjust the length of the tube. Also included, is a expansion device with an expansion element which is held on the insert section of the inner tube and which can be pressed apart by exerting a quasi-radial pressure. The expansion device enables the inner tube to be axially and tightly clamped in the outer tube. In order to ensure that the expansion device engages inside the outer tube in all cases, it is provided that the expansion element pertaining to the expansion device if fitted on the area where it can be pressed apart by exerting a quasi-radial pressure with at least one soft-elastic friction element compensating diameter tolerance between the inner and outer tube and protruding above the outer periphery.

  • Patent number: 6142527
Abstract: The invention concerns a A stick such as a ski pole, a walking stick or the like, which has a pole grip and a pole tube, the length of which can be altered, as well as an adjusting device with which at least one gripping area of the stick pole grip can be adjusted in a bent position relative to the pole tube. The purpose of the invention is to obtain a stick which can be folded into a compact unit as small as possible. To this end the pole tube has two sections joined together by the adjusting device and the adjusting device is accommodated outside of the pole tube of the stick.

  • Patent number: 6139060
Abstract: A handle for a stick has a hand loop formed by a strap and held in the area of the upper endpiece of the handle. The length of the loop is variable and the loop strap can be secured by means of a clamping device arranged inside the handle endpiece. The clamping device has a clamping element arranged inside the handle endpiece and surrounded by the loop strap. A fixing element adjustable from the outside of the handle extends in a guiding thread in the direction of the axis of the stick through the clamping element and the loop strap. In order to make the clamping device easy to handle without tools and to give an attractive design to the stick handle, a rotary actuating member mounted in the stick handle is coaxially associated and secured against rotation to the fixing element, but in an axially movable manner.
