Patent number: 7321968Abstract: A method and apparatus wherein, for a network protocol a message is encoded in a first computer unit upon employment of the encoding format of the network protocol, being encoded to form an encoded message. The encoded message is subjected to a cryptographic process. The cryptographically processed message thereby formed is again encoded upon employment of the encoding format of the network protocol. The cryptographically processed message encoded in this way is transmitted from the first computer unit to the second computer unit. In the second computer unit, the received message is decoded according to the encoding format of the network protocol, and an inverse cryptographic process is applied to the decoded message. The inversely cryptographically processed message is again decoded according to the encoding format of the network protocol.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 1998Date of Patent: January 22, 2008Assignee: Fujitsu Siemens ComputerInventors: Christoph Capellaro, Gerhard Hoffmann, Klaus Lukas, Michael Munzert

Publication number: 20060221083Abstract: A technical function that is of interest for mobile or stationary communication terminals is the playing of a video of the corresponding person when a call is received. However, the playing of a video during an incoming call is associated with highly complex processes, as the stored videos have to be decoded in real time. The object of the present invention is therefore to specify a method, which reduces the required computing power and storage capacity. The object is achieved by a method in which an image of the calling person is animated by a face animation algorithm.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2006Publication date: October 5, 2006Inventors: Jesus Guitarte Perez, Carlos Lucas, Klaus Lukas

Publication number: 20060222264Abstract: What has become a widespread function in mobile or stationary communication terminals is taking pictures using cameras integrated in the mobile communication terminals. The pictures are taken sideways or upright depending on the specific situation, but other orientations also occur. Once taken, the pictures can be displayed directly on small screens or used by further applications. If slanted pictures have been taken a user will have to turn the mobile communication terminal to be able to view the face in its correct position. Moreover, face animations using pictures that have been taken are extremely difficult if the faces shown in the pictures are not in vertically oriented positions. To resolve this problem a method determines an optimized orientation of the picture by applying a face-localizing method.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2006Publication date: October 5, 2006Inventors: Jesus Guitarte Perez, Steffen Harengel, Carlos Lucas, Klaus Lukas

Patent number: 7050584Abstract: After a key pair with a public key and a corresponding private key has been determined on the basis of an initial value, the initial value is made available to a user. The private key can then be erased. When the user wishes to carry out a cryptographic operation based on the “Public-Key-Technology”, the user enters the initial value into a computer and, upon utilization of the initial value, a regenerated private key is formed, which corresponds to the private key that had been previously formed but was then erased.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 1999Date of Patent: May 23, 2006Assignee: Infineon Technologies AGInventors: Gerhard Hoffmann, Klaus Lukas

Publication number: 20060104454Abstract: A system for selectively picking up a speech signal focuses on a speaker within a group of speakers who wishes to communicate something to the system using an image analysis algorithm to identify, based on a recognition feature, a position of at least one person who wishes to give the system voice commands. The detected position is then used to adapt a directional microphone to the at least one person.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2005Publication date: May 18, 2006Applicant: SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFTInventors: Jesus Guitarte Perez, Gerhard Hoffmann, Klaus Lukas

Patent number: 5608800Abstract: The process is intended to establish whether the data transmitted by the transmitter (SE) to the receiver (EM) have been tapped and spuriously reintroduced at a later point in time and/or have been inadmissibly altered. For this purpose, the signature (S) assigned to the useful data (D) is enciphered symmetrically, using a combination of coupling data (K), characterizing the coupling between transmitter and receiver, and random data (Z), generated by a random generator. The coupling data are transmitted in plain text, the random data are enciphered. On the receiver side it can be established whether the transmitted message has been tapped and reintroduced at a later point in time if the coupling data are inadmissible.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1994Date of Patent: March 4, 1997Assignees: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft, Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AGInventors: Gerhard Hoffmann, Klaus Lukas, Stephan Lechner, Ferdinand Steiner, Helmut Baumgartner, Ekkehard Lohmann, Matthias Leclerc
