  • Publication number: 20020183709
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and to an apparatus for producing hygiene products, in particular multi-layered sanitary towels each having an absorbent-material core and cover layers on both sides, the hygiene products first of all being produced just as initial products and then being provided with adhesive with the aid of a sheet material having at least one silicone separating layer, whereupon the hygiene products are packed individually with the aid of the same sheet material and/or are first of all folded, interconnected by virtue of the sheet material being stamped, and packed individually.

  • Publication number: 20020066640
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of, and an apparatus for, turning articles (2), or products and/or semifinished products, during production and/or prior to packaging, in particular hygiene products, using a rotational arrangement (3) which has at least one carry-along element (5) which can be moved relative to the rotational arrangement (3) and receives the article (2) from a feeding transporting arrangement (8) and discharges it again to a continuing transporting arrangement (9).

  • Patent number: 5373680
Abstract: An apparatus for folding and packaging of hygiene products such as tissues r sanitary napkins has two operational lines arranged in parallel between an input feeder and a packaging station. One of the lines includes stations for folding, enveloping, embossing, and cutting operations. The other line includes one or more transport mechanisms that by-pass the first mentioned line to transport articles directly from the inlet to a packaging station. Thus, if desired, articles may be supplied to the packaging station without any folding or other intermediate treatment by using the by-pass line. An output feeder is arranged to cooperate with either the main production line or the by-pass line for feeding articles to a packing station.

  • Patent number: 5188212
Abstract: The invention relates to a rotating transport apparatus for transporting objects from a first conveyor to a second conveyor, each conveyor having a longitudinal extending central axis. The apparatus includes a swivel arm with an axis, and a rotary plate rotatably mounted on the swivel arm axis, extending at least partially to the first and second conveyors. A drive is provided for rotating the rotary plate. Carriers are rotatably mounted beneath the rotary plate, in regular intervals along the periphery of the rotary plate. The carriers have gripper and a carrier axis for counter rotation for consecutively gripping the object, conveyed by the first conveyor. The objects are transported to a second conveyor, and placed on the second conveyor without altering the orientation of the object with respect to the first conveyor. The operating radius between the center of the rotary plate and the carriers is variable.

  • Patent number: 5176615
Abstract: An apparatus for folding hygienic products, especially soft, oblong artic having a small thickness, has a folding tool that is driven by a drive mechanism providing two rotary motions one superimposed on the other and interlinked in such a way that the folding tool applies pressure along an intended fold-line, whereby the article being folded is pushed while being folded in a transport direction. The interlinking of the two superimposed motions assures a quiet, smooth, yet high speed run of the folding tool and its drive mechanism. By pushing the article along its fold-line into a gap or take-up channel, a positive folding of the article is assured, whereby already folded portions are prevented from unfolding again.

  • Patent number: 4674258
Abstract: A method and apparatus for inserting insert items into an enclosure, the ert items being selectively compiled by data coding. At the insertion station of the apparatus the insertion items are inserted without reduction in speed by top belts and bottom belts, past lateral insertion guides which are pivoted into the inside edges of the enclosure, directly into the enclosure which is aligned by means of movable cams operated in timed relation to the apparatus and which is opened by top and bottom vacuum devices. The filled enclosure is then conveyed by a segmental roller such that the insertion items retain their speed throughout the insertion operation and do not stop.

  • Patent number: 4586598
Abstract: A method and apparatus for delivering articles from a high-speed production achine manufacturing hygienic articles, such as sanitary napkins, whereby the sanitary articles, which are separated from the production line and transported at high speed, are turned, aligned and slowed down successively, whereby the interval in the timed sequence of the articles is reduced significantly. Packs of the articles containing a preselected number of units are formed from the flow of sanitary articles so slowed down, and delivered for further processing.
