  • Patent number: 3989869
Abstract: A process is provided for making a polyurethane mechanical foam adapted to be used as an interlayer between a plastic surface layer and a textile, the process involving frothing a non-ionic aqueous dispersion free from emulsifying agents of a polyurethane having a particle size of less than 1 micron, said dispersion containing more than 45% by weight polyurethane and a thickening agent whereby its viscosity of the dispersion is from about 10 to about 70 seconds with a Ford Cup having a 4 mm orifice to form a foamable mixture, spreading the frothed dispersion into a foamed film, and drying the resulting product.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 22, 1974
Date of Patent: November 2, 1976
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Hermann Neumaier, Klaus Noll, Helmut Reiff
  • Patent number: 3935146
Abstract: A polyurethaneamide containing ethylene oxide units and adapted to be dispersed in water without added emulsifiers and dispersions containing them are provided. The novel dispersions produce coatings on leather and other substrates having an improved glossy appearance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 18, 1974
Date of Patent: January 27, 1976
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Klaus Noll, Walter Schroer, Josef Pedain, Helmut Reiff
  • Patent number: RE29224
Abstract: Polyurethane urea elastomers with novel dissolution behavior and which are synthesized from polycarbonate macrodiols, diisocyanates and diamines and which can be prepared and dissolved in aqueous solvents. These elastomers have the advantage of being less of a physiological hazard, more resistant to common solvents and require less emulsifiers and dispersion aid.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: May 17, 1977
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Josef Pedain, Klaus Noll, Klaus Konig, Wilhelm Thoma
  • Patent number: RE29623
Abstract: Light stable polyurethane coatings with a considerably increased softening range and melting points coupled with improved resistance to perchlorethylene is obtained by using a chain extender comprising at least 80 mol % 1,4-diamino cyclohexane with a cis/transisomer ratio of from 10/90 to 60/40 .Iadd.and by using aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diisocyanates wherein such diisocyanates consist of at least 75 mol percent of 1-isocyanato-3-isocyanatomethyl-3,5,5-trimethyl cyclohexane.Iaddend..
