  • Patent number: 4498334
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring fuel consumption in an internal combustion engine the fuel supply system of which has a circulation line for the purpose of cooling the fuel pump. At the times when fuel consumption is measured, this circulation line is short-circuited downstream of a flow measuring device disposed in the supply line, so that then only the quantity of fuel delivered to the engine flows through the supply line from the tank, thus flowing through the flow measuring device as well. Because of the heating up of the fuel, the shortened fuel circuit is effected only at such time as a measurement procedure is desired. In the exemplary embodiment, a 3/2-way valve is used for switching over the fuel return line.

  • Patent number: 3961828
Abstract: What follows is the description of a two-circuit braking system for motor vehicles having a wheel lock-prevention device. Each circuit includes magnetic valves, while the system includes a switching valve and bypass line structure connecting at least one of the two circuits to the switching valve. The switching valve is associated with a threshold value such that the switching valve is switched in dependence on the threshold value causing the bypass line structure to be placed into open communication with its respective circuit. In such a situation at least some of the magnetic valves are rendered ineffective so that a braking pressure increase without lock-prevention is achieved.

  • Patent number: 3949252
Abstract: To permit ready assembly and disassembly, without problems of centricity of relative elements, the hub cap of a wheel includes a stub shaft on which a stator is retained in fixed position with respect to the axle, by spring engagement means, the hub cap rotating with respect to the stator and carrying a magnet pole rotor ring, the spring engagement means additionally providing electrical contact between an armature winding in inductive relationship to the rotor ring.

  • Patent number: 3944290
Abstract: An improved wheel lock prevention device for use in the brake system of motor vehicles. The device has a relay valve included in assembly with a motor vehicle operator controlled brake velve, a wheel brake cylinder and a source of pressurized air. The relay valve has a primary and secondary pressure side. The primary pressure side is connected to the brake valve and the secondary side is connected to the wheel brake cylinder. A short circuit connection between the primary and secondary pressure sides is provided with a control for effecting a balancing of the pressures on both the primary and secondary pressure sides after the pressure on both sides has been reduced from a peak value by a desired extent during application of the brake system.
