  • Patent number: 4861946
Abstract: A cable sleeve having end members and a sleeve member having at least one longitudinally extending slot and a clamping device for closing said slot and holding the sleeve member in sealing engagement on said end members. The cable sleeve further includes a gripping arrangement for prevent the spreading apart of the ends of the slot. This arrangement includes the sleeve member having inwardly directed segment-like flanges adjacent each edge of the slot and an arrangement for holding the two flanges together including a stiffening element that extends across the slot and is connected to each of the flanges on each side of the slot.

  • Patent number: 4845314
Abstract: A cable sleeve with a sleeve member engaging a pair of end members having a sealing system including ring seals on the end members and a longitudinal sealing element for each longitudinal slot of the sleeve member characterized by each of the longitudinal sealing elements having at least one groove receiving the seal with the inner wall of the groove in the region of the ring seals of the end members having a lateral opening through which a portion of the longitudinal sealing element can extend to contact the ring seals of the end members and at least the longitudinal sealing element is formed of a foamed plastic material.

  • Patent number: 4839472
Abstract: A closure system for a longitudinally divided cable sleeve, which has longitudinal closure beads expanding wedge-shaped and matched clamping rails. The closure elements have an arrangement to aid in drawing the clamp rails onto the beads, which includes supporting elements fixed relative to the beads and abutment openings in one of the rails which are engaged by a leverage tool which is inserted therethrough to urge the rail into and out of engagement of the beads. The clamp rail can be drawn onto the wedge-shaped beads in a step-by-step leverage motion using a tool.

  • Patent number: 4808772
Abstract: A cable joint comprising a pair of end bodies and a longitudinally slotted sleeve which is secured on the end bodies with a sealing system arranged therebetween characterized by the sealing system having two annular portions and at least one longitudinal portion and an arrangement for clamping the sleeve in sealing engagement on the end bodies. Preferably, the sealing system is reusable and the assembly can be accomplished with ordinary tools such as a screwdriver. In one embodiment, the annular portions are separate from the longitudinal portions. In another embodiment, a single ring-shaped element forms both the annular portions and the two longitudinal portions.

  • Patent number: 4715740
Abstract: The invention is directed to a closure system for closing a longitudinally divided cable sleeve having wedge-shaped beads along a parting line and having wedge-shaped clamp rails. One of the rails has a mutual guide element in the form of a resilient strip which is received in the guide channel formed in the other rail and the strip and guide channel have coacting latching elements to hold the rails in a final clamping position. Preferably, at least one of the rails is provided with pegs or abuttments which are provided to aid in moving the rails into the closing position on the beads with a simple lever-like tool.
