  • Patent number: 4121629
Abstract: A multispot welding machine for producing a mesh web from arrays of wire running skew to the longitudinal direction of the web and crossing one another has two endless circulating feeders which carry deflector-pins and each of which has a working run defining a different one of the edges of the mesh web to be produced, a wire-layer which is movable to and fro across the feeders and arranged to lay a number of wires alternately about a corresponding number of deflector-pins on the working runs of the two feeders, and a welding zone having means for welding the wires together at their crossover points. The endless feeders circulate in a common plane which is parallel with the plane of production of the web, the deflector-pins project substantially perpendicularly from the common plane, and the working runs of the two feeders have in the neighbourhood of the welding zone a greater separation from one another than before and beyond the zone.

  • Patent number: 4117872
Abstract: The invention relates to a binding tool for twisting the free ends of a binding wire, particularly for holding together metal reinforcing rods at their crossover points. The tool has a feed device for the binding wire, at least one pair of wire guides which can be opened and closed like pincers and which form, in the closed state, a U-shaped wire guide path, in use, around an assembly to be bound, shears for cutting the advanced wire to length and a twisting head which can be driven and which has wire passages to receive the ends of the wire to be twisted, the wire feed path extending, when the twisting head is in the position of rest, through one wire passage therein and, via the U-shaped wire guide path into the other wire passage in the twisting head. The twisting head is disposed in the space between the wire guides of the or each pair and the wire passages in the twisting head are formed in components which can be swung inwards about bearing pins.

  • Patent number: 4096680
Abstract: The invention relates to reinforcement grids for steel concrete construct and consisting of longitudinal transverse rods crossing one another which, at some or all of their crossing points, are connected by pieces of binding wire looped around the rods and closed by twisting their free ends together. In order to give the grid rectangular stability, within each mesh of the grid, or within each rectangular mesh group comprising a number of adjacent meshes, the binding wire loops at the four crossing points of the rods defining the mesh or mesh group are looped around the rods defining the mesh or mesh group are looped around the rods so that the planes of half the loops are 90.degree. from the planes of the remaining loops, and the loops in each direction are uniformly present in the grid.

  • Patent number: 4096787
Abstract: A piston rod connected at one end to a piston slidably arranged in a cylinder projects with its other end through an opening in an end wall of the cylinder beyond the latter and a fork-shaped member is connected by a friction weld, that is without adding welding material or external heat, to the other end of the piston rod.

  • Patent number: 4093106
Abstract: The invention concerns an apparatus for detaching wires previously cut to length from a disordered bundle. The apparatus includes a container for the bundle of wire in which there is mounted, adjacent one end, a device for grasping the wires in turn adjacent their ends and moving them transversely to their longitudinal axis against a stop situated to the side of the draw-in region of two conveyor rollers which have a variable spacing between their axes. The rollers are arranged, on reducing their axial spacing, to grasp the end of each wire bearing against the stop and to pull that wire out of the bundle substantially in its axial direction to convey it to a receiving device.

  • Patent number: 4021634
Abstract: The invention concerns a welding machine for electrically resistance welding together, to form a mesh, at their points of intersection in a mesh production plane, two crossed groups of parallel wires. The machine incorporates at least two pairs of opposed cooperating welding electrodes, one of said pairs being arranged on each side of the mesh production plane. A pair of transformers have their primary windings connected in series and each pair of said electrodes are connected to the secondary winding of one of the transformers in such a way that in operation the welding current will flow through the electrodes and through the secondary windings of the transformers in series.

  • Patent number: 4020669
Abstract: The invention concerns a bending machine for bar or rod material such as reinforcement bars for reinforcing concrete. The machine includes a bending mandrel which is stationary during the bending process and a bending tool which can be pivoted about the mandrel. Directly in front of the bending mandrel in the direction of the feed path of the bar or rod material are positioned two clamping cheeks movable relative to one another in a direction perpendicular to the feed path of the material, the cheeks each including a clamping face substantially parallel with the feed path and a cutting face substantially perpendicular to the respective clamping face, the lines of intersection of these faces forming cutting edges substantially parallel with one another.

  • Patent number: 4019665
Abstract: The invention concerns a feed device for feeding rod or striplike material, the device having two or more feed members which are arranged to lie behind one another along a feed path of the material. Each of the feed members carries a plurality of grippers arranged at equal angular intervals around a central axis of the feed member and is connected with a gearing which imposes on the feed member a rotational motion about its axis and, simultaneously, a circular motion about a fixed axis parallel with its own axis. The arrangement is such that said rotational and circular motions are coordinated so that the grippers of each of said feed members describe a trochoidal path which includes a substantially straight-line section along the feed path.
