Abstract: An electrosurgical device comprises a first signal generator and a second signal generator, wherein the signal generators are configured to generate an electrical signal that can be transmitted to a patient via electrodes. A control module is provided in which an output value of the first signal generator and an output value of the second signal generator are combined to form an aggregate output value, and which determines whether the aggregate output value exceeds a predetermined threshold value. A method for operating such an electrosurgical device ensures that the patient is not inadvertently treated with an excessively high electrical output.

Abstract: The present invention furnishes a plasma generator for generating a cold plasma jet beam in the application field of medicine and in particular of surgery as well as other fields of science. The plasma generator is furnished with a separate, frequency tunable oscillator, wherein the frequency tunable oscillator controls the power end stage through a driver stage. The radio frequency of the outpout of the generator is determined by a resonance frequency of a resonance transformer. The plasma current is limited by a capacitor disposed in the hand piece.
