  • Publication number: 20070045170
Abstract: The invention relates to an environmentally friendly water filter cartridge (10) for use in the water tank (1) of a household machine such as a beverage dispenser or the like that is easy to dispose of after use. To this end, the invention provides that a discharge line (7) running outside the filter housing (12) is provided with the connecting elements for connecting to a suction line of the household machine.

  • Publication number: 20060011523
Abstract: A water filter cartridge is proposed that is intended especially for treating drinking water in beverage machines or drinking water devices, which includes a replaceable control unit to monitor the condition of the water filter cartridge (1). The water filter cartridge according to the invention is intended to make possible reliable monitoring of its condition. This is accomplished according to the invention in that the control unit includes a sensor unit (11) with at least one conductance sensor (13, 14).

  • Publication number: 20040244434
Abstract: A household appliance, such as a dishwasher, a washing machine, or similar apparatus, is proposed with an addition unit (9) to add cleansing agent to a cleaning liquid, which ensures reliable rinsing out of the cleansing agent chamber(s). This is accomplished according to the invention by the fact that the addition unit (9) is connected with a pressure line (7) of a rinsing pump (2) to deliver wash liquid to the addition unit (9) in order to rinse out cleansing agent located in it.

  • Patent number: 6383375
Abstract: A water tank is proposed with a filter cartridge especially for use in automatic vending machines in which the risk of contamination and bed compaction of the filter bed are reduced or avoided. This is accomplished according to the invention by the water inlet opening of filter cartridge being located at the bottom, with a passageway provided for the water to pass through filter cartridge upward and a descending drop line to guide the water to drain of water tank, located at the bottom.

  • Patent number: 5628895
Abstract: A description is given of processes and machines for the treatment of drinking water, preferably in the domestic sector. With these processes and machines, undesirable constituents, for example organic and inorganic substances which are harmful to health, can be removed from the drinking water or microbial contaminations reduced. For this purpose, the technologies of ion exchange, adsorption at surfaces and sterilization by means of UV light are applied. As a result of taking account of the physico-chemical parameters of the water and the various operational states in the regulation of the process, the exhaustion of the filter cartridge is monitored and a change in the quality of the treated water with operating time is avoided. Bacterial contaminations of the water are avoided by advantageous embodiments of the UV sterilization device. Since the feedstock container can accommodate both the water to be treated and also the treated water, a low space requirement results for the treatment machine.

  • Patent number: 5122254
Abstract: A solid state electrode for the determination of sodium ion concentrations in solutions, with a solid state electrolyte having a high conductivity for sodium ions being provided as the sodium sensitive membrane. The solid state electrode and a reference electrode forms a sensor. The advantages of the sensor of invention are, in particular, high selectivity combined with economical production in thick-film technology. The sensor may be constructed in cylindridcal form.

  • Patent number: 4976991
Abstract: A sensor for monitoring hydrogen concentrations in gases, containing a solid electrolyte body, a detector electrode having a surface which is exposable to a gas to be monitored, and a reference electrode, in which the reference and detector electrodes make contact with the solid electrolyte, and the detector electrode contains a platinum metal or a platinum metal oxide. A method of making the sensor is also disclosed.
