  • Patent number: 6991758
Abstract: A method and a device for production of a web with good breathing properties, for example having a nonwoven web based on plastic filaments and/or plastic fibers and a plastic film, applied on one side of the nonwoven web and containing at least one mineral filler. For the production of the good breathing properties, the web is stretched in the longitudinal direction of the same, in two successive steps, and an embossing is carried out, at least in certain sectors of the surface, between the two steps which effect the stretching in the longitudinal direction.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 5, 2002
Date of Patent: January 31, 2006
Assignee: Reifenhauser GmbH & Co. Maschinenfabrik
    Inventors: Klemens Krumm, Klaus Reifenhauser

  • Patent number: 4908165
Abstract: An apparatus and method for cooling a melt strip from a wide-slot die includes a cooling roller driven at a predetermined angular velocity and juxtaposed with a corona-discharge electrode in the form of a rotation symmetrical rigid bar which is rotated about its axis at an angular velocity much greater than that of the cooling roller. The rotating corona-discharge electrode can be received in a nonrotatable insulating chamber having air inlets on a side opposite a slot-shaped outlet training ionized air onto the melt strip.

  • Patent number: 4880370
Abstract: An extrusion die for the extrusion of a multilayer thermoplastic foil or plate in which a stack of die plates is provided and each plate has an inlet fitting on a respective side of the rectangular outline of the die connected to a respective extruder and a broadening channel opening at an outlet along another edge of the respective plate. The outlets are located on the same side of the stack and open into a common die lip from which the multilayer extrusion emerges at an elongated slit for the broad-mouth die. The broadening channels of the upper and lower plates are sickle shaped and extend inwardly from the respective inlets mirror-symmetrically to receive a median plane along which the inlet of the broadening channel of the central plate is provided.

  • Patent number: 4708618
Abstract: An extruder die for extrusion of a multilayer thermoplastic laminate, particularly in the form of a foil or plate, comprises a multicomponent block symmetric with respect to a central plane dividing a plurality of feed channels and distributing channels connected to said feed channels, at least one mouth and a central distributor channel connected to and following said mouth symmetric in relation to the axis of said extruder die as well as an outlet die following said central distributor channel. The block has on the end opposite the outlet die an additional feed channel with a round or rectangular cross section for feeding in a special plastic material which changes over into a discharge duct extending to the mouth.

  • Patent number: 4304622
Abstract: An apparatus for producing thick slabs of thermoplastic synthetic-resin material comprises a pair of extruders each extruding a half-slab strand to a respective roller assembly, the roller assemblies having final rollers which form a consolidation nip between them in which the two half slabs are bonded together. Preferably the half slabs and the roller assemblies are mirror symmetrically constructed and the half slabs can be formed with longitudinal compartments which can be filled with a foamed synthetic-resin material.
